I was reading through the Bible at some point and came across a passage that said 'Do not eat any unclean thing or drink any wine, spirit or anything stronger" I then researched this on the internet to get more clarity and I found that (According to the article I had found) God gave instructions not to eat any unclean animal such as pork, shellfish etc.

Please clarify this for me…is this only in the Jewish faith or also in the Catholic/Christian faith?

In Mathew 15:1-20, and mark 7:1-23 Jesus says no food can defile a person that unholy acts bad attitudes that defile in some peoples opinion now some Evangelicals will claim that you must still abide by this diet restrictions but if that were the case should we still stone adulters rebellious teens and make burnt offerings?

That’s from the Old Testament and pertained to the Jews only. In the New Testament, Jesus states all food is clean.

Mark 7:18-20 (RSVCE)

18 And he said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a man from outside cannot defile him, 19 since it enters, not his heart but his stomach, and so passes on?”[a] (Thus he declared all foods clean.) 20 And he said, “What comes out of a man is what defiles a man.

Generally people see the Old Testament laws divided into ceremonial and moral commandments. The moral commandments still apply to us today. The ceremonial commandments were designed to set the Jewish nation apart (such as dietary restrictions) and no longer apply to Christians. Acts chapter 15 deals with this question, and says Christian only need to still stay away from food sacrificed to idols and from food that is strangled (I believe this was a form of sacrifice used in paganism.)

Hope that helps!

Also in the “vision” that Peter received, that is spoken of in Acts, God speaks of All being cleaned by God, this includes but is not limited to food, something to ponder.
