I was wondering, in the US, which jurisdictions allow for use of the Clergy shirt? At the melkite parish I attend, the pastor there will sometimes wear a clergy shirt if there are no services that day, and wear a blue or black cassock on days when there will be services. I’m especially to hear about the Oriental Catholic Jurisdictions.

Also, side note, I was surprised the Melkite Eparchy allowed use of a clergy shirt. LOL!

An amusing sidelight to your post.
I was stationed at the Naval Base in Kodiak Alaska during the early 1960’s. In the city of Kodiak is a Russian Orthodox Church and parish that dates from when Kodiak was the capitol of Russian Alaska.
Anyway the old pastor died and was replaced by a young Russian-American priest that was sent out from New York. He was a very modern American style priest, who was clean shaven and wore a black business suit with a Roman collar.
The congregation of the Russian church in Kodiak were largely American Indians who were the descendants of AI’s that had been originally converted by Russian missionaries.
The modern Indians refused to believe the new priest was indeed a real priest until he grew a full beard and wore the traditional Russian hat and cassock. It was only then that they resumed attending services at the Russian Church in Kodiak!
