Dale, these are clergy! They should know better, and should realize that they’re hurting the Lord, not to mention their parishioners outlook on how things should be handled.

Why can’t they each have a meeting and come to an agreement where someone other than one of “them” be hired to fix the Church? They could set up rules and have overseers from all the groups to make sure this company doesn’t desecrate anything.
I agree with that, somewhat, as well. 👍👍

That’s like the old joke about the Franciscan and Jesuit who were arguing about which was the greatest order. So they prayed that God would answer the issue. Out of a cloud a piece of paper appeared and descended to them. It said:

“My children, please stop these silly arguments. God, O.P.”
I’ve heard a similar version of the same joke: there was an argument between a Franciscan and a Jesuit over which Order (yeah, I know that the Jesuits are a ‘Society’, not an ‘Order’, so bear with me ) God loved the most. They decided to put a blank piece of paper on the altar overnight and see if they get an answer.

Next morning, there was:

On the paper were the words: ‘I love you both equally. [signed] God…S.J.’

I didn’t know there were several versions of the same joke! 😛

That being said, I’m just sad when I read accounts of brawls between the different branches of Orthodoxy in Bethlehem and Jerusalem. Gives Christians a bad name when there’s so few of them left in the Holy Land. 😦

I sure hope that the Latin Rite Franciscans keep out of these stupid fights!

I’m sure you meant to say, ‘MANGER’…:o

I saw the pictures of the broom-wielding clerics on the MSNBC site last week. Yikes-looks like they meant business! Nasty, nasty, nasty…

Someone else on this forum said that St. Nicholas is going to give these guys a lump of coal for being so bad…maybe he should give them a punch to put them back in line, like he did to the heretic Arius (he of the Arian heresy)!

Someone posted this Scripture this morning on my FB, and right away I thought of this situation. It seems that the clerics need to go back and learn how to live the Word. It would make everyone’s life including their own so much easier.

From the letter to the Colossians
3:5-16
“Life of a new man”

Put to death whatever in your nature is rooted in earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desires, and that lust which is idolatry. These are the sins which provoke God’s wrath. Your own conduct was once of this sort, when these sins were your very life. You must put that aside now: all the anger and quick temper, the malice, the insults, the foul language.

Stop lying to one another. What you have done is put aside your old self with its past deeds and put on a new man, one who grows in knowledge as he is formed anew in the image of his Creator. There is no Greek or Jew here, circumcised or uncircumcised, foreigner, Scythian, slave, or freeman. Rather, Christ is everything in all of you.

Because you are God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with heartfelt mercy, with kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear with one another; forgive whatever grievances you have against one another. Forgive as the Lord has forgiven you.

Seriously: St. Nicholas is gonna bring these guys coal for sure next year.
Considering St. Nicholas possibly punched out Arius at the Council of Nicea; he’d more likely be wondering why the site is being shared with Schist and Heretics.
