Last year, in October, here in South Carolina, we had a nasty set of floods, which was responsible for the deaths of 19 people. Well, one of my favourite stories to come out of that, was the woman that was saved by the cross. One Sunday morning, an elderly woman was driving to a local Baptist church, in Irmo (near Columbia), well, her car was lifted by the waters off the pavement by the (in this instance) aptly named “Vision Miracle worship center”. She’d called 911 (for our friends across the pond, that is the emergency service number in most of the United States) but no one answered. So she then called her son-in-law, who sent her grandson to find her. So, here grandson, with some help, grabbed a red cross that had yet to be carried away, and saved grandma with it. She was saved by the cross.
. She told WIS-TV (a local news station in Columbia) that “Jesus is my savior, this story is not about me, this is about what He did to save me”. I think we should all be so grateful. This is one of my favourite stories, and I hope you’ll have learned a lesson in it too.
