wow, that is scary to watch. All parishioners seemed to be fine with that.

I read several replies there, and some non-Catholics thought it was a Catholic mass.

Is an Episcopal mass celebrated somewhat similarly to a Catholic one?

Episcopal Mass and Catholic Mass are very similar. They still have communion at the rail in many of the churches, maybe all of them? The biggest, most noticable difference is that you might see a female priest saying Mass.

That’s very true however the Episcopal Church has strayed far from the Bible.

I hate to tell you this, but cases of Clown masses, in RC churchs, are not unknown.

And you wouldn’t see a female priest, though you might see a female garbed in sacerdotal vestments, amongst the Episcopalians.

That’s bizarre. Now, my parish website has a good explanation for the use of clowns-- it’s nothing at all like that-- at least at my parish. I’ve never seen a clown Mass and really don’t expect to, however, the youth group acts out the Passion of Our Lord. They aren’t clowns, don’t dress like clowns or look like idiots. The priest and the deacon don’t wear silly vestments either.

Still it all seems a bit “different” to me.

That’s what happens when you don’t really believe the Eucharist and wine is the true body and blood of Christ. I have been praying for the Episcopalian, they have been going thought hard times with their Churches.

Aside from the video (no comment), there seemed no write-up - only comments posted from visitors to this site. Were these plain clowns - not clerics? It was awful - no matter - The Mass - as we Catholics know it - is holy - sacred. And I’m sure / hoping Episcopalians or similar would consider same. How does one watch that and not get chills of the scarey kind?
God help us !

Am I the only one that kept feeling like they were going to dump something on someone else’s head? Wow, that is disturbing. :crossrc:

The Episcopalians do indeed, find themselves in hard times. But, in truth, I have seen and discussed Clown Masses in RC churches, also. It’s a topic on a conservative RC board I frequent. I’ve seen the pics.

In my own experience as an Episcopalian, we had better taste than this (but that was the early 70’s).

Seriously, this video made my heart hurt. I couldn’t watch it all.

Can you give me the Link?

Thanks

But you’d never see anything this deliberately sacrilegious. These people put alot of effort into mocking Christ’s sacrifice; I’m certain this is the exact production Satan would put on if he wanted to mock the Eucharist.

😃
No,I thought any minute some guy was going to come by on stilts and throw a pie at the church members.

Man that was weird:eek:

You know I see nothing wrong with them dressing up for sick kids in hospital’s and parades, but for a mass is just wrong. 🤷

If Henry VIII could have seen this, he would have castrated himself.
Only if he had a son first… 😃

A lot of the parishoners dont care, true…they don’t care anyways. If someone pointed out the obvious problems you would probably hear “what’s the big deal?”

People just don’t care, dont care to know, dont even know what they are partaking in. We are surrounded by a flock of blind sheep peacefully being led to slaughter while someone is whispering in our ears niceties and what we want to hear…

If I or anyone I ask can find it, sure.

Added:

I went to the other board and searched, couldn’t find a functional link, though there was reference to one such RC Mass in Florida. I posted a request for assistance there.

I then googled, and found this site, which I think I recall as being in the conversation I mentioned:

romancatholicblog.typepad.com/roman_catholic_blog/2006/12/a_sacrilegious_.html

I recall a couple of still photos from links, also. But I can’t find any.

If my request for assistance yields anything, I’ll add it. The board I was discussing it on is for orthodox and traditional RCs and Anglicans. Everyone had the same reaction to those examples we found, both Episcopal and RC.

And added again:

I just noticed that the service I linked to apparently is also listed under “similar videos”, on the youtube site.
