Clueless to who and what I am looking for

I remember a yr or so ago watching C-span and a very glamorous woman of middle eastern descent was speaking about the muslim world. Maybe 40-50 yrs old. She may have written a book. She is now living in the USA. She spoke w/ a heavy accent. The courage she demonstrated was mind boggling. She was very supportive of US actions against the Muslim terrorists. She did not mince words. Who is she? Did she author a book? Is she w/ a think tank?
