I’m an extremely clumsy person: I drop things, I trip over myself, words slip from my mouth that I did not intend to say. I feel like I might accidentally drop the Host, or have a Freudian slip during the consecration or something.

Do you think I could overcome these challenges, or should I not take the risk?

I think you could overcome these challenges. I did (yeah!)

Sometimes, you have to consider WHY things are falling or dropping, and then work around that.

For example, maybe you need to focus on ONE THING AT A TIME (Something I’m doing a lot better on)

Or, perhaps it’s that you don’t have muscle control in a hand, or maybe a couple of fingers.

I think that most obstacles can be overcome, esp something like clumsiness. It’s not going to go away - usually - but you can learn to work around it.

Best wishes to you:blush:

You do not say how old you are. Lots of times clumsiness is just a natural by-product of growing up. Your brain learns to control a set of bones and muscles of a certain size, then the body gets bigger and all the calibrations are off. Such clumsiness may persist well into the twenties, but eventually the body settles into its full size, the brain figures out how to manage things, and the clumsiness stops.

Sometimes the before mentioned clumsiness of body can make one feel nervous, which can cause clumsiness of speech. As the body settles down and physical clumsiness tapers off, self-confidence usually increases and one often begins to speak with more confidence as well. If you think you may have a vocation to be a priest, go ahead and answer the call. These problems you speak of may work themselves out during your seminary formation, long before you would be ordained.
