Im happy you live at a place where people are streaming into the Church.
I can’t give a credible idea about Church growth in Croatia and Italy because I have only been in Medjugorje and I have visited Rome once… none of these visits gave me any indication of generel revival in the populations.

As for the rest of Europe and especially North Europe the Church is many places in ruins and in a coma. To refuse to see it or cover over it, would be the same as ignoring the bleeding wound in the head of a child. It would not help… if anything, left to itself it could bring even more infection and death.

How can a Mass not be memorable, you say with indignation. The liturgy is wonderful, and the Eucharist is a great privilege and the center of our lives. Thats what you indicate, and rightly so. We are all privileged by the things Jesus gives us… What saddens us is that sometimes we dont receive all that He wants to give us, because of sleeping ministers. I am happy you havent been in my church… then I would acuse you of nonsense. I can tell you… masses can be forgotten or looked back on with pain and grief… I wont tell you what I have experienced at masses where priests said things that undermined the Gospels… or didn’t preach anything useful at all.

Its not Jesus that disapoints us, neither is it the Holy Spirit.
If your friend who was only complaining about protestant services, is unable to communicate with Jesus in a protestant church among our brothers there, then its not because she is a very wise and spiritual Catholic, but because she is trying to make a rude statement about a place where she came in as a guest.
Whereever two or more are gathered in the name of Jesus, He is right there among them.
We got enough problems of our own to point out the faults in other churches.

If we have enough problems of our own with faults in churches, then why are you pointing them out from your own? You are dead wrong about Europe, AND you are wrong about the priests. Tell me at least 5 of your experiences with priests who have undermined the Gospels. Tell me, let us see for ourselves what you have experienced as a Catholic in a Catholic Mass. My friend who complained about Protestant services IS Protestant.

Could you please quote what part of my statements you dont agree with.
From the begining you have not uttered agreement with any of my points but only urged me to continue on an on so you could finally twist my words and get something uncharitable out of it.

So what is it.
You disagree with ?

1. Worthy preaching is essential in our Masses
2. Powerful preaching can heal, inspire and restore many things in a soul
3. Some people are interiorly dry and need to be helped extra by the congregation and the priests through love, fellowship and powerful testimony/preaching
4. some people are so full of the inner comfort that they can be in a desert exteriorly and it wont have much effect on them.
5. a Catholic who believes that the Holy Spirit is not present and cant give her something in a protestant service, shuts herself off in advance from any grace that could have been given.

So what is it you disagree with… 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or all of the above???

I was clear in my response exactly what parts of your posts seemed contradictory. Since the person who complained about the Protestant service is Protestant (another post) it’s clear that I was correct, and you were coming from the perspective that when one is not inspired at a Catholic Mass it’s the priest’s fault and when someone is not inspired at a Protestant service it must be the congregant’s fault.

I addressed the idea that maybe the person at the Protestant service wasn’t one of the “elite” and his soul was lost by a boring sermon by the Protestant minister. You didn’t answer that point. You seem overly willing to lay the blame at the feet of the Catholic priests, assuming that a lackluster response must come from a lackluster homily, while at the same time assuming that a lackluster response in a Protestant church must be the fault of the person in the pew, especially, apparenlty, if he is a Catholic guest. ???
