Dear all,

For over a week now, I have had debilitating cluster headaches 3-5 times per day. Reading is painful; being on the computer is painful unless I’ve just taken a (heavy-duty) pain pill; just being in a normally-lit room is painful. I wake up a couple of times a night in agony. My pain is often 8/10 on a 1-10 scale. It’s bad.

I finally got in to see my doctor today. She, thankfully, is familiar with this issue, and prescribed me some drugs which, it seems, helps most people with this condition. I’ll be picking them up shortly.

Please pray for me, that they do indeed work, and work quickly. Cluster headaches are said by those who have experienced both to be more painful that either childbirth or kidney stones. For comparison, a codeine pill that’s supposed to be good for eight hours gives me perhaps one hour of relief. One.

I am exhausted, and trying not to lose hope. Please pray for me and for my doctors.

Anything that keeps you from your normal daily routine is difficult. These headaches could be caused by many factors. I hope the medication will provide you relief from the pain. I am praying for your good health. God bless you.

Prayer for Headaches to St. Teresa of Avila

Dear wonderful Saint, model of fidelity to vows, you gladly carried a heavy cross following in the steps of Christ, who chose to be crucified for us. You realized that God like a merciful Father chastises those whom he loves, which to worldlings seems silly indeed. Grant to UbiCaritas relief from great pains if this is in line with God’s plans. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Hi UbiCaritas,

I am so very sorry that you are feeling that unwell.

I pray that you feel better soon.

May God bless you during this difficult time for you. :hug1:

I’ve had these too, and I agree they’re very painful., I have even had nausea with them. Not sure if this can help, but I have very dry eyes, and have been putting eye drops in my eyes about 3x a day. I live in a very dry climate and for some reason if one of my eyes gets very dry it seems to trigger these. Not sure if this will help you or not, but will pray for you too.

I’m sorry to hear you have cluster headaches. I’ve suffered from them in the past but thankfully not recently. They are debilitating and very painful. When I had my first one, I thought I was going to die; I was constantly tearing from one eye and unable to move anything without increasing the pain. My wife rushed me to the ER and they gave me a muscle relaxant similar to how they treat people with migraines. Then they sent me home with a really strong prescription of Vicodin. After taking one dose of the Vicodin, I woke up over 24 hours later! My wife thought I was dead because I just didn’t get up or move. A doctor-neighbor came over to check on me but I never took another dose of Vicodin in my life. Ever.

I pray that these cluster headaches become a thing of your past as well. 😦

PATER NOSTER,
qui es in caelis,
sanctificetur nomen tuum.
Adveniat regnum tuum.
Fiat voluntas tua, sicut in caelo et in terra.
Panem nostrum quotidianum da nobis hodie,
et dimitte nobis debita nostra
sicut et nos dimittimus debitoribus nostris.
Et ne nos inducas in tentationem,
sed libera nos a malo. Amen.

I had them in my teens and twenties. they did eventually go away. they are made worse by alcohol (learned that the hard way in my early twenties…) i also found benadryl helps, and if you have access, breathing a couple minutes of pure oxygen will clear one up immediately (learned that one in the Navy)… They are one of the most painful things you can have, but don’t lose your faith, they can be overcome. i’ll pray for you…

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Prayer to St. Joseph for the Unemployed

O Saint Joseph, we pray to you for those who are out of work, for those who want to earn their living or support their families.

You who are the patron of workers; grant that unemployment may vanish from our ranks; that all those who are ready to work may put their strength and abilities in serving their fellowmen and earn a just salary.

You are the patron of families; do not let those who have children to support and raise lack the necessary means. Have pity on our brothers and sisters held down in unemployment and poverty because of sickness or social disorders. Help our political leaders and captains of industry find new and just solutions. May each and every one have the joy of contributing, according to his abilities, to the common prosperity by an honorable livelihood. Grant that we may all share together in the abundant goods God has given us and that we may help underprivileged countries. Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal UbiCaritas You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into UbiCaritas’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, Fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven, who brought forth the Son of God, still remaining a Virgin, assist us in this necessity. O Star of the Sea, help us, and show us that you are our Mother.

O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, we humbly ask you from the depths of our heart to help us in this necessity. There are none who can withstand your power. O show us that you are our Mother.

O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. Sweet Mother, we place this cause in your hands. Amen

St. Thérèse of Liseux Prayer From “Story of A Soul”

May today there be peace within.
May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.
May you use those gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content knowing you are a child of God.
Let this presence settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise, and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

Amen. †

Lord, thank you that you are with me right now.
Your love surpasses all fear.
I give you the anxiety I feel.
I surrender all my worries to you.
Clear my mind;
Calm my heart;
Still my Spirit;
Relax my being, that, I may
always glorify you in everything
I write, speak and do.

Amen. †

Jesus, Help Me

In every need let me come to Thee with humble trust, saying,
Jesus, help me!

In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations,
Jesus, help me!

In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials,
Jesus, help me!

In the failure of my plans and hopes; in disappointments, troubles and sorrows,
Jesus, help me!

When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good come from my efforts,
Jesus, help me!

When others fail me, and Thy grace alone can assist me,
Jesus, help me!

When I throw myself on Thy tender love as Father and Savior,
Jesus, help me!

When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me,
Jesus, help me!

When sickness and loneliness overcome me,
Jesus, help me!

Always, in weakness, falls and shortcomings of every kind,
Jesus, help me and never forsake me.

Thank You, dear Lord Jesus.

Amen. †
