I think her concern about public perception could be allayed with education. I can only imagine how newsrooms will be stymied for an angle or spin when a elderly person dies soon after receiving the vaccine.Talbot was worried about whether the vaccine would even work in such frail, vulnerable patients. Even more, she worried about how it might look if the vaccine failed in that group, or how it would affect public perception if residents died soon after getting the vaccine.
That would make the CDC recommendation vote look like they did think this thru.I think her concern about public perception could be allayed with education. I can only imagine how newsrooms will be stymied for an angle or spin when a elderly person dies soon after receiving the vaccine.
I think there is more than a little bit of truth here. BLM…Antifa…Biden… Election Fraud…Trump…Proud Boys…Bigfoot…Loch Ness Monster. They all generate advertising dollars for media outlets, and they’re going to keep feeding us this nonsense as long as we buy it.At this point, I can only believe the media wants us all to be constantly in an uproar about one thing or another, whichever thing they choose, so that we will keep tuning in.
Wait–Bigfoot? Loch Ness Monster–nonsense?! NO! Say it isn’t so!Bigfoot…Loch Ness Monster. They all generate advertising dollars for media outlets, and they’re going to keep feeding us this nonsense as long as we buy it.
The problem for all (including the US) are the long term implications of being vaccinated by a company that obtained indemnity as a condition of production of a hurriedly concocted medication. The problem for the US will be whether enough people will get the vaccine for there to be effective herd immunity.
That should the majority. The problem for all (including the US) are the long term implications of being vaccinated by a company that obtained indemnity as a condition of production of a hurriedly concocted medication.
What a great story. Thanks for starting my day off with a chuckle.Wait–Bigfoot? Loch Ness Monster–nonsense?! NO! Say it isn’t so!
Frankly, I worry about this every time someone sticks a needle in my arm and injects some mysterious substance. Every time it requires a huge leap of faith. The fact that the Covid vaccine was developed so quickly and in such a contentiously political atmosphere is especially worrisome. I’m glad I won’t be first in line to receive it.The problem for all (including the US) are the long term implications of being vaccinated by a company that obtained indemnity as a condition of production of a hurriedly concocted medication.
Like 5 years ago when people died frequently in nursing homes?…“One of the things we want to make sure people understand is that they should not be unnecessarily alarmed if there are reports, once we start vaccinating, of someone or multiple people dying within a day or two of their vaccination who are residents of a long-term care facility. That would be something we would expect, as a normal occurrence, because people die frequently in nursing homes.”…
