If I understand correctly what you are saying,

you agree that there are many go’s to God, i.e. *mediators *to God

So, you also are including Mary as *mediatrix the fem form of mediator

*Since “Co” = with , and "Co" does NOT mean source, nor in place of, nor instead of, as many opponents to Catholic teaching on this subject say, then co-mediatrix means she does everything with Jesus

I meant mediators.
 
We will eventually answer to the King. It is He who has the final say.

Nobody is saying that Mary has the final say, but she does act as our Advocatrix (advocate) on her throne that is situated on the right of our King’s, wielding great influence, no less than the Queen Mother (Gebirah) did in the Davidic kingdom on behalf of God’s chosen people. The saving power of Christ and our need for God’s forgiveness is not denigrated, denied, or set aside in any way. Both these prayers are insistent about contrition and turning to God.

But we also are not arrogantly insisting on doing it all alone, just Me-And-Jesus. We ask for help and prayers from the rest of the Body of Christ, and particularly from the Proto-Christian herself, Mary.

If one has Christ, they are not “alone.” And I don’t understand how reliance on the atoning death of the Lamb of God can, in any possible way, be considered “arrogant.”

At the Last judgment, the sheep will be separated from the goats. The goats are those who are predestined to Hell and whose souls have been condemned at their particular judgement at the time of death. These souls are eternally consigned to Hell because they have preferred to be separated from God forever. So there is nothing Mary can hope to do for them anymore through her maternal intercession. Still, in His mercy, God does allow the poor souls in Hell to suffer less than they deserve without the negation of His justice, but not by our prayers. Anyway, not even the blood of Christ cleanses us from our sins, if we don’t want God’s forgiveness or believe we have no need of it or even deserve it so as not to repent - unpardonable sins against the Holy Spirit. Mary’s prayers are in keeping with the Divine intention.

At the general Last Judgement, there will be mercy shown only to those who have been merciful (cf. Mt.18:21-35). And it makes no difference whether one has accepted Jesus to be his “personal Lord and Saviour.”

Obviously, the idea is that accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior should affect how you live your life. As for justice, if God acted with justice, we’d all be doomed to hell.

So true. The mercy that God does give us is astounding, as we are so unworthy of Him and His love, yet he chose to die for our sins. We deserve justice and wrath, yet he forgives us so freely.

I pray that we all may be in a state of grace at the time of my death and judgement, lest we cry out “Lord! Lord!” and hear in response “I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.” :eek: :imsorry: :sad_bye:

For Fundamentalist Protestants of the Calvinist persuasion, the idea is simply putting one’s faith in what Jesus has merited for his believers in strict justice. They believe that nothing they do can merit their eternal reward, not even an act in charity and grace. Thus they reject the idea that we can merit grace for others by prayer and self-sacrifice. This is made possible by Christ having been “punished” for their sins in their stead, of his having to face the wrath of God for them as a substitute. Their salvation is assured because Christ has already been damned for them, provided one believes and accepts this is true. In this way, Jesus is their “personal” Lord and Saviour. Only Jesus’ personal merits are taken into account when God judges them. And his merits are applied only to the believer among the elect who are called and drawn out of mercy apart from any will of their own.

If not most of us, we’d certainly all be doomed if it were strictly about justice with no mercy. By His mercy, God sent His Son to us. Purgatory exists because of God’s mercy as well. Without Purgatory, most souls would end up in Hell. Charity and grace are not by-products of being saved, but the means to be saved. In the supernatural life of grace, human merit is part of the equation of being saved. This is made possible by God’s mercy and justice. Merit means the right to a reward. Christian merit is a supernatural merit, since it’s acquired through cooperative grace.

And Jesus’ merits should cause us to live righteous and devout lives and stay on the Way. Putting your faith in Jesus translates into how you live. Why do you think Jesus told the sinner who anointed His feet, “Your faith has saved you?”
