And this is a bit of a rant…all in good fun though. 😛

So this weekend was the most bizarre and (slightly) frustrating weekend I have had in a long while. It all started when my friend asked me if I would take her out shopping so she could purchase a birthday present for a friend’s birthday party. I was happy to help, as I was very much eager to spend my Saturday evening out.

We began by going to a local Barnes and Noble (for those of you who are unfamiliar with B&N, it is a book superstore, but you can also buy games, movies, music, etc. lol), and while she was browsing, I decided I would go use the restroom since I seem to have a squirrel’s bladder. Well, when I opened up one of the stalls, I was HORRIFIED to discover that someone had smeared feces all over the walls! It was disgusting. And that, my friends, was only the beginning.

My friend was unsatisfied with the selection at B&N, so we went to a Party City, where I proceeded to try on a number of pirate hats while she, yet again, decided to leave empty handed. Now, although I am a female, it seems as though God did not give me the “I love shopping quality” that many women have. By the time we left for Target, the third store, I was getting impatient.

Things at Target were pretty uneventful. She bought what she needed, and then we left for a coffee shop. THIS is where things got interesting.

7:55pm - We entered the coffee shop and no one was at the counter, so we rang the bell. A young women emerged from the back room, and she appeared to be as high as a kite…whether it was a hallucinogen, or a stimulant, I did not know. But SOMETHING was not right.

Me: I would like to order an iced coffee with skim milk and decaf coffee, please.

I had to keep repeating myself, and she just stared blankly. The lights were on, but nobody was home. Finally, she seemed to understand, but responded with, “I need to use half and half, because I am new here and I need to follow the directions exactly.” Fair enough. I wasn’t going to be impatient with her. She then needed to travel all the way across the store to find a bag of ice she could use for my drink. When she returned, she started throwing it on the ground and pounding on it. It was so bizarre. Finally, she put the mixture in the blender, and after five minutes of blending, she could not figure out why the ice was not breaking up.

Well, she forgot to put the blade in the machine. And so what did she do? She STUCK HER FINGERS INTO MY DRINK IN ORDER TO STICK THE BLADE INTO THE BLENDER. I probably have Hepatitis C now.

8:20pm - The cash register was broken, and so after shuffling around for a while, trying to figure out the price of just two coffees, she handed us a slip that we had to bring up to the main register of the supermarket. Well, there we were waiting in a line that was not moving. We decided to switch to a faster moving lane, and when we got there it turned out that the gift card I had could not be used, because it was for the café and not for the supermarket. The cashier told us that she would go and ask a manager, but she got distracted because another register was broken. We paid in cash and left at 8:33pm. It took us 38 minutes to purchase two coffees. Oh, and the ice still wasn’t blended, and so I had to chew my drink.

Now it’s Sunday. I went to Mass with my aunt, and on the way out, our hurricane-like winds blew my skirt up in the air, giving everyone a show. I was so embarrassed. Men, women, and children alike all saw my granny panties.

On our way home, I pulled up next to a jeep and was suddenly very interested in the driver’s bumper sticker, because it was written in Arabic…and I am learning Arabic! So there I am, innocently trying to decipher the writing. Above it, was the word “infidel” and so I immediately assumed that is what the Arabic also meant. When the light turned green, he turned and gave my aunt and me the scariest look…I cannot even begin to describe it. It literally gave me chills. He then sped away very fast. I had been pointing at the bumper sticker, and so I guess he must have seen me. But I swear to you, I thought I had encountered a jihadist.

It’s still fairly early, and so there is a lot of time left for something else to happen. But I just thought I would post about my very bizarre weekend. Hopefully this provided you with some entertainment lol.

God bless

Wow, that certainly is a strange encounter!

First - out of concern for you - I’m going to scold you for actually drinking the beverage after she did that!😦 :tsktsk:

And with that out of the way, I’m going to reassure you: Hepatitis C is transmitted by bodily fluids, so you’re probably safe with regard to that particular infection.🙂

Keep notes. This could be the beginning of a career as a novelist! Truth is stranger (and funnier) than fiction!

I have no idea what got into me! I am the world’s most OCD human being when it comes to germs…I’m like Felix Ungar from The Odd Couple lol. And yet, I still drank it. I think the hours of shopping formed a fog in my brain. 0__0

OH WHAT!? You drank it? literally facepalming :doh2:
:rotfl:

Good read, made me laugh 👍

And hey, you can consider yourself lucky! I saw a girl on the train station with her skirt stuck to her backpack. She had not noticed and im guessing she’d been flashing her granny panties for everyone her whole morning. Imagine the dread when she found out :bigyikes:

Gosh!

We are also living in some VERY strange times!

I have lived some episodes, myself, where I think we could undergo a friendly competition of who had the strangest week!

😉

Wow! Thank you all so much for the sweet compliments! I enjoy writing very much. It helps me to organize my thoughts, and if I can make other people laugh…that’s even better! And because I seem to get myself into predicaments like this all of the time, it is very likely that I will be posting another “episode” in the near future.

God bless you all. And thank you again!

Thank you so much! What a compliment! Well, nothing quite as eventful has happened since last week; however, I have created a blog. I took one of the other user’s advice to “keep notes,” and so I thought it might be nice to have my own place where I could update frequently and entertain others with the bizarre situations I seem to get myself into. lol
