Yesterday I felt kind of moody and sort of dished out a bit. I made fun of a couple of my work colleagues and was sort of judgemental.
At the end of the day I felt guilty. It’s hard to describe that feeling. I wanted to pray before I went to bed but felt a little ashamed.
I knew I couldn’t pray with this feeling so I took my Bible and wanted an answer from the Bible, opening it randomly.
This is the page I opened(true story).
Matthew 7:1-5

1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

3"Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye."

😦

I really felt those words but after reading them I felt better because I was able to pray and ask for forgiveness.🙂

Praise God!

My, isn’t the Holy Spirit working in you today ? 😛 😃

Definitely what I would call a God Slap.

Especially the part “You hypocrite” felt like a slap. I’m surprised you don’t see a red hand print on my cheek:D
But seriously, I feel I need to photocopy Matthew 7:1-5 and hang it above my desk:blush:

That’s beautiful. I value any touch from God, even-maybe especially-the convicting ones.

This happens when we talk too much.

I think I saw this statement in the Imitation of Christ that goes;

“I have often walked away from conversations with men, feeling less of a man. This we experience when we talk too much.”

Its all part of growing spiritually.

Don’t be too hard on yourself, but remember the lesson you have learned.

God Bless

Boy, can I relate to THAT! Of course, talking too much comes a little too naturally to me for my own good. Have been trying to fast from pleasures that I indulge in…now that I read this, I must include this in my “fasting” 😛
