Collect for the Election of a Pope

Our priest used the following collect at mass Monday. It was a special mass for the election of a new pope.
O God, eternal shepherd, who govern your flock with unfailing care, grant in your boundless fatherly love a pastor for your Church who will please you by his holiness and to us show watchful care.

I was wondering, if I can use this for a final prayer when reciting LOTH and there is no memorial, feast, or solemnity occurring.

Anybody know?
 
Since we are in Lent, and each Lenten feria has a proper Collect, it would be more appropriate to add it as a Commemoration after the Collect of the day.

I believe this applies only in private recitation though. The older Breviary (almost) never allows Votive Commemorations to be added when prayed in community, and if I remember correctly, the same is true of the LOTH rubrics. But, as a private devotion, it would be permissible.
 
Per recent direction from the USSCB, “Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer may also be celebrated and on days when there is no obligatory memorial, feasts or solemnities, the closing prayer may be taken from the Mass for the Election of a Pope or Bishop.”

Bear in mind, though, that when you pray the LotH privately, you are praying it devotionally, not liturgically. So I don’t imagine it is a grave offense to change the closing prayer, anyway. The above seems to describe mainly the appropriate course of action for public, liturgical celebrations of Lauds and Vespers.
 
Privately, if you have no obligation, you can basically do whatever you want, although it is good to follow rules. Although I think that, for private use, going this deep would be a bit tedious.

The authority of this pages seems to flow from Cardinal George and the entire web pages is from the Diocese of Chicago. Of course, I’m in the Seattle Diocese, but I’m wondering if this permission is general or just for Chicago.
 
So, it looks like the feria day’s of Lent are sort of raised to an optional commemoration with the Collect given above.

I recite the LOTH as a private devotion. But usually with my wife who has taken her vows and must follow the rubrics. It looks like she can go either way.
