College kid going downhill fast

Hello friends,

A friend of mine reached out to me recently and absolutely floored me with the state of his soul. I knew he was struggling but this is an entirely new level of bad. He can’t forgive himself, he’s stubborn as a mule in concrete, and all I can think of is prayer and fasting and praying he stays on earth long enough to finally accept God’s mercy and forgiveness and love. His entire perspective on life is skewed now and I fear for his safety. Please pray for this poor young man who is convinced he’s unsaveable, that he can know truth and love and find joy again.

Our Lady of Sorrows, pray for us. St. Augustine, St. George, St. Michael, St. Benedict, St. Rita, pray for us. Amen.
 
Prayers offered for your friend. You might suggest he talk to a priest.
 
He has, and is going to counseling, but his inner critic/demon is overwhelming him; he doesn’t want to listen so I think it has to be a spiritual battle…
 
I pray that God softens his heart. Moreover, I pray that God overwhelms him with love and the peace of Christ. Amen.
 
Update, he took the first step towards healing. Now he’ll feel more isolated, so prayers there, but we’re going places!
 
Prayer for Repentance and Conversion

O God, in Your great mercy and love, grant that this
college student may sincerely and thoroughly repent
from his sins, and humbly and devoutly receive Your
forgiveness through the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Grant this same grace to all of us, especially those
most in need of repentance and forgiveness. In Jesus’
name, amen.
 
Update 2: the second party is healing as well, which is a blessing! Praise be to God!

Dear Lord be his protector and defender in this time of trouble. Surround him with the Holy Angels, so that he may emerge from every danger in the fullness of health and well being. Guide his life journey, so he will always walk safely together with you, in God’s protection and friendship.

O Lord, we ask for a boundless confidence and trust in Your divine mercy, and the courage to accept the crosses and sufferings which bring immense goodness to our souls and that of Your Church.

Help us to love You with a pure and contrite heart, and to humble ourselves beneath Your cross, as we climb the mountain of holiness, carrying our cross that leads to heavenly glory.
