Seems victims don’'t have any rights. We aren’t even allowed to defend ourselves, anymore. And the criminals know it.

I predict that one of these days, in the not-so-distant future, something is going to blow, and this is all going to finally be over. We can’t continue on this way. Things are getting completely out of control.

I think it’s going to happen sooner than later. People are fed up with the lawlessness of these violent radicals anti-everything American nut jobs and the Democrats refusal to acknowledge it’s happening.

When President Trump wins the election in November is when it is going to blow up big. I think I’m going to start carrying a weapon with me in my car. Even though I live in a Red state run by mostly Republicans, much of the left is radicalized it may not be safe anywhere in November.

The title of that article might mislead someone to believe that he was arrested for sexually abusing a child.there are two different incidents at play.

Neither the breitbart article, nor the WFLA article have alleged the person has skipped bail. For the sake of avoiding misunderstanding, sharing the following.
  • Garcia is a registered sex offender having been convicted of lewd or lascivious molestation of a victim under 12 years old in a case. (Src)
  • Garcia was arrested on 21 August after an infant under his care had bruises consistent with the use of force over time. The investigation started on 9 August after a medical center reported bruises on the child’s face and torso. The current charge is “aggravated child abuse.” The public record of the arrest is above.
  • Garcia satisfied the conditions for bail.
  • As of yet, the court case for the arrest has not occurred. It is not currently alleged that Garcia has 'disappeared."
 
It’s nothing new here in the US, it’s not just violent demonstrations. Gun violence is just another example of a sick society, look at what happened at Sandy Hook, 20 innocent little children slaughtered, Republican politicians voted overwhelmingly to not allow any form of gun reform, even gun registration. And nothing has changed since, children still get slaughtered by gun violence. This present government will do diddly squat to stem gun violence, so don’t think otherwise, it’s not a Republican or a Democratic party problem, it’s an American problem. The 2nd amendment is a sacred commandment written by the finger of God and shall not be infringed upon, so nothing will change.

There was a request for no bond, in this case, they allowed him out on bail. This is the second time he has been involved in an incident with an injured child.

I think you mean a request for no “bail.” Defendants often do not have enough money to pay the refundable bail. So they instead purchase a non refundable bond from a company that will put down the money for bail.

For bail to be denied it must be shown that there is a significant flight risk for the defendant. A person having disappeared in a previous case could be evidence of risk… If such a risk is not shown and the person is able to have bail paid then person is able to gain temporary freedom until there is a verdict on the case.

In the absence of such evidence it looks like you chose a random case to post along side the comment that sometimes people disappear. A story on a person that paid bail and did not show up to court would have been more relevant.

The investigation and the court case will consider the evidence and render a verdict. If the verdict is “guilty” on the charges brought against him then sentencing occur. If the verdict is guilty and the sentencing is for prison, then his freedom of movement will be lost.

The 2nd amendment was included in our Bill of Rights so that we can defend ourselves, our families and our property against violent, lawless criminals who wouldn’t hesitate to violate same, AND/OR against a tyrannical government that may suddenly decide it has the right to crush us by force and set itself up as a dictatorship in full violation of our Constitution (the law of the land).

That’s the purpose of the 2nd amendment. Legitimate self defense, which we ALL have the right to exercise.

That there are criminals who choose to violate our laws and harm innocent, law-abiding citizens can NOT be blamed on the 2nd Amendment. That blame rests solely on the shoulders of those criminals, and nowhere else.

You don’t see value in the 2nd Amendment. Others see little value in the 1st, or 4th. Are you okay in casting them aside to, or should we treat them all equally in terms of the process for changing them? There would be no constitution if we just scrapped parts various people didn’t like.
 
Any type of gun reform will not change gun violence. I do not understand why anti gun people do not get this. That thinking is a lot like because drunk drivers kill people we need vehicle reform, we need to recall all vehicles and that will stop drunk driving.

Most gun owners are responsible and never hurt anyone, just like most drivers do not drive drunk.
 
Anti-gun advocates want to take our guns away so we have no means of defending ourselves. They wish to leave us powerless, so they can do to us whatever they please, and we can do nothing about it. It’s an attempted power grab, and heaven help us if they ever succeed.

Most gun owners are responsible and respectable. Why punish everyone because some in our society choose to be criminals? Taking away everyone’s guns isn’t going to deter these people. They will find and use firearms, regardless.
