Does anyone know if such a thing as a St. Colm Cille (Columba of Iona) medal exists (and where I could get them)? I have been searching the web to no avail. I would also like to find Colm Cille holy cards, icons, statues, etc. I can’t find any of these things. I can find lots of St. Patrick and St. Brigid stuff, but nothing for the third Patron Saint of Ireland!

If Colm Cille medals don’t exist, does anyone know how to have them made? (I imagine if there were a medal, next would come cards, statues, etc.) Do Saints medals need to be specially commissioned?

I can help with icons of Saint Colmcille.

Go to

photos.groups.yahoo.com/group/celt-saints/lst

Click on the Icons folder. and you’ll be able to see four different versions of icons of Saint Colmcille

I’m probably not wary enough about this cyber-nonaccountability that can occur here, but your neat message about scouting reminds me of the code/law: trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean and reverent. Colum cille means " Dove of the Church". It is usually translated as St. Columba in English.
Seamus is the standard spelling and yes, it means James.

Ohh re the scouting reference - I was a Cubmaster at my parish but the pack has since closed. Too many at the parish did not appreciate the good in Scouting and saw it as a non-Church related activity. I am now on the committee for my son’s troop and maybe I can get Catholic Scouting going again in my parish.

I was looking at some lists and I do not see Seumus as a proper spelling for the name - and coming from a family with native speakers I have never heard of any spelling other than Seamus.

"Si vis amari, ama! " is Latin for “If you want love, then love!”
