I am starting this thread as many do not know what it means to allow the peace of God to rule in their heart.
Many see the peace of God as safety from an enemy.

This is no final word about the peace of God nor be of a great revelation but it does bear witness to a form of peace many do not see.
For babes in Christ I offer this whether Catholic or not.

Colossians 3:15
[15] And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

What might be this peace that should rule in our hearts?

Micah 5:1-5
[1] Now gather thyself in troops, O daughter of troops: he hath laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israel with a rod upon the cheek.
[2] But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
[3] Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she which travaileth hath brought forth: then the remnant of his brethren shall return unto the children of Israel.
[4] And he shall stand and feed in the strength of the LORD, in the majesty of the name of the LORD his God; and they shall abide: for now shall he be great unto the ends of the earth.
[5] And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land: and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

According to this the peace is the one who would judge Israel.
It would not be a goody-goody feeling or becoming the most powerful nation on the face of the earth.
This peace would come from Bethlehem and his goings would have been foretold of old.
So, what else might the peace of God be that should rule in our hearts?

Zechariah 6:11-13
[11] Then take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them upon the head of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest;
[12] And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD:
[13] Even he shall build the temple of the LORD; and he shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule upon his throne; and he shall be a priest upon his throne: and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.

We know that this is a prophesy of Jesus Christ. He is that Branch that would come forth from Jesse.
He would build the temple and bear the glory. His body being a temple destroyed and yet raised in three days just as he said.
He holds the counsel of peace. As written, unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulders. His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
It is he who as Micah said is our peace and it is his counsel that is our peace.

So, if Jesus is our peace can we place him in our hearts by faith or is this just vain words when Christians say he is in our hearts by faith?

Genesis 3:16
[16] Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

The church is the bride of Christ. As that woman any Christian should have her desire towards her Husband and he should rule over her.
Bear this in mind as we go to the next scripture to see Christ in us.

Jeremiah 31:22
[22] How long wilt thou go about, O thou backsliding daughter? for the LORD hath created a new thing in the earth, A woman shall compass a man.

This is the hard part for the male ego. To be a Christian you have to be as a woman or bride or betrothed and compass a man. Peter even wrote of the meek and quiet spirit that is in the women and the hidden man of the heart. (1 Peter 3:4)
So if Christ is the man and our peace do we see anything to bear witness of our relationship with him as our husband?

Ephesians 5:24-33
[24] Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.
[25] Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
[26] That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
[27] That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
[28] So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
[29] For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
[30] For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
[31] For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
[32] This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
[33] Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

When we see that Christ is the man and we the church are the woman we can see the marriage Paul spake of. For one to be the betrothed of the Lord he is in her hearts by faith as she compasses him.
It is Christ that left his Father Jehovah and his mother to dwell with his wife as one flesh.
The mother can be seen in Galatians 4:26
[26] But Jerusalem which is above is free, which is the mother of us all.

Since the Lord dwells in our hearts by faith we are one flesh. We being the bride compassing him.
I guess if the Catholics say that Mary is in heaven as a queen it would still apply.
I personally prefer the scriptures the Lord showed me.

If Christ is the peace that rules in our hearts then this also bears witness to a heterosexual lifestyle which many today are trying to do away with.
