Is this father coming from a standpoint of this stuff happens because God isnt taught in public state run school? If so, I have no desire to read such ramblings from a “surface thinker”

Thats the same clap trap that spewed from Pat Roberston and Falwell after 911. Its the gays fault! Its abortion! If so, then God is flawed because he gave us so called freewill we also have to buy into the notion that its allowed to be tainted by supernatural forces that weaken us when soemthing goes against nature and his will. If you believe a full moon makes people crazy and lose their will have at it.

The father is not asking for a class on theology to be opened in public schools. School is a intellectual pursuit with subjects that have and/or are affecting us today. The father is simply asking God not to be excluded from this conversation.

Things have reached a point where it won’t be long before the Declaration of Independence is thrown out of the classrooms for teaching monotheism. Could such a finely written document be written today? “…the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them…” “…that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights…”.

Should we remove the Declaration lest we offend athests, agnostics, and polytheists? How can we have a document that preaches there is a Creator, one who designed and created everything? Where is the emphircal evidence this Creator really did endow us with unalienable rights? We’re not born with a certificate saying so.

The father is correct about evolution. In the early years of evolution, Darwinism heavily influenced the eugenics movement of the early 20th century. The notion the strong survive while the weaker or those of lesser value were chosen by nature to die off fed Margret Sanger and her group and maniacs like Hitler who believed in assisting nature in creating a master race. These people believed they were simply taking part in a natural process anyway. The strong were obligated to root out the weak or lesser through natural selection.

Evolution does not explain how it all began. Teachers are forbidden to put forth any other “theory” other than evolution to explain how the universe was created. School is not the exploration of ideas. God is excluded from the conversation.

Even a deist believes in God. They differ from other God based faiths on what role God plays in today’s world.

This does not negate or devalue what the Declaration says or how it can potentially offend in the modern world. The idea of a Creator, a deity that created us, flies in the face of some evolutionists who believe we became by random chance.

There’s nothing random about a genetic fight for survival. Calling evolution things it isn’t, like random and immoral, is really getting kind of old.

Evolution does not explain creation.

A kitchen counter holds eggs, milk, and flour, the ingredients to make a cake. In 100 years time, those ingredients may evolve into some form of mold. But not in 100 years, 1,000 years, or more, those ingredients will never, on its own, make a cake. Cake will not come together by random chance.

When I mention random chance, I am talking about the process of creation, not evolution. I am willing to hear any arguments proving creation by evolution.

Might be beneficial to review St. Thomas Aquinas’ proofs for the existence of God, specifically casuality, perfection, and design.
