I’ll let others handle the science aspect and who-said-what. The larger picture for me is that condoms will not stop AIDs in Africa not because a condom has tiny holes in it or not. They will not stop AIDS because there are GIANT holes in them called inconsistent use. Condoms require absolute consistent use to be as effective as scientists say they are. In other words, they require discipline, virtue, things like that. Now it boggles the imagination how a fornicator who lacks the virtue to live chastely is somehow going to find the virtue to put on the condom every time. This is why it is completely irresponsible to have people touting condoms around as if they are talismans against evil. And then there is the basic question: If you found out someone you intended to fornicate with had AIDS would you still do it with a condom? If not, you have little business telling others to do it.
