Has anyone here ever attended a Benediction service (Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament) which was done in conjunction with Confession being offered at the time? In other words, the Benediction would begin with Exposition of the Host and perhaps a reading and short homily from a priest; then, during the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, multiple priests would be available to hear confessions, and then after a period of time the service would end with formal Benediction and reposition of the Sacrament.
It’s something I’ve been to once before (on a retreat) and I thought it was spectacular. Is this done in anyone’s parish? It seems like a “convenient” way (and I don’t mean that with a negative connotation) to renew interest in both practices (adoration and confession)… provided there is someone in the body of the church with the Sacrament, of course!
