Combining Divine Office and Little Office

If you’re a layman under no obligation to recite the Office, you can do whatever you want. You are simply doing it out of devotion.

However, for those who are priests, nuns, monks, bishops, etc…and are under an obligation, the Divine Office fulfills the obligation and the LOBVM is simply devotional.

The Greater Office should proceed the Little Office. For example, at Vespers, you’d say the Greater Office of Terce right up to the requiescant in pace. You’d then start the Vespers of the Little Office with the Deus + in adjutorium.
