This is the Offertory Procession. Those will be the ciborium with bread to be consecrated for the Mass. Its also customary to give other gifts such as flowers and food (traditionally, whatever the fishermen or farmers have to give to the Church instead of money).
Flooding is a way of life in the Philippines. Our buildings are made of concrete, especially the main floors, so they won’t rot like wood after being flooded. Also in areas that are frequently flooded, people already put up their outlets and other electrical appliances higher than the usual flood levels.This devotion is very inspiring, but did anyone else happen to notice that these people are walking around in water while the electric is till on in the Church?? Electric lights wrapped around the pillars…

True that! Warm, murky, bacteria infested tropical floodwaters, or possibility of frostbite, such a tough decision!We have that much water on the street right now in Calgary - except it’s frozen!
