How was the Archdiocese of Los Angeles able to move the nuns out of the property as the article states if they (the Archdiocese) don’t own the property or have any authority over the nuns’ order?

Carnelian, you are a great person-----this is beneath you. I’ve always liked you. And I thought you liked me.

I was simply putting some information out there. Ok, I should not say she IS a member of a Satanic organization-----but let’s admit this-------her lifestyle and the messages she puts out are overtly sexual and unchristian----she is not a good role model----her and most of the stars of contemporary music today-----is that better?

The Evil One is very much abroad in our society—and it directly and indirectly influencing out children and youth. 😦

I have no idea either. The Vatican will ultimately decide. 👍👍

Ludicrous is right: That’s actually a racist theory long since debunked: nobody back in the “good old days” could believe a blues guitarist could be so gifted and talented; in fact, I believe he was Christian.

Most of the comparable sentiment today seems to imply women artists can’t be talented. Lady Gaga is tremendously talented. Katy Perry’s first album was actually gospel & CCM, and her dad’s still a church pastor: not many people realize that.
I have heard Lady Gaga do a duet with Tony Bennett minus the gimmick. Her voice is average at best. I felt the same way when people were making such a big deal about Susan Boyle a few years.

Your argument that people don’t think woman artists can be talented is ludicrous. How do you explain Adele’s popularity?

Ok, I should not say she IS a member of a Satanic organization
If anyone doth decline to say that Katy Perry beith a member of a Satanic organization, let him be anathema!

(Okay not really, I just wanted to be part of the conversation.)

Satan? It’s possible - have you ever heard her talk? Filthy mouth - every other word bleeped.

I have a feeling some posters on CAF might disagree with that statement, and nothing is more important to me than the opinions of anonymous strangers on the internet so, you know. :o

Potty mouth does not necessarily equate Satanism.
It’s also possible that Adele is a good singer/songwriter and her songs have struck a chord (pardon the pun) in her listeners.

You know - you should watch your own mouth before talking. She may not be always polite, but accusing someone of being in league with evil is very grave.
“Do not bear false witness”, indeed.

Evidence of Satan worship imo
Sorry, but that is silly. Just because someone may be talented and popular at something, doesn’t mean there is satanic influence involved. (Think of athletes in all sports, for example. There is still much hard work involved, along with natural gifted ability)

In the case of Adele, contrary to a few opinions here, she struggles to be one of the better vocalists today. Some industry critics rate her a grade B because of her poor vocal technique which caused her to have vocal cord surgery just a few years back.

She may have created a couple of hot songs recently that became popular with her fans, but critics will caution you because of her technique.

Compare that to Gaga, who through commitment & effort has gradually improved to become one of the top vocalists today. Her overall talent today is extraordinary. She is a classically trained pianist, and a vocal powerhouse (naturally).

Or sometimes you might say, “If this isn’t parody, then I don’t wanna know” and then go to bed, get up in the morning for work, etc.

Let me put it this way-----her lifestyle, her beliefs, and her songs are inappropriate and controversial enough for her to be opened to the chance of some people accusing her of Satanism. 👍👍

The fact (which I actually tend to agree with) that she is a technically a better singer than Adele does not lessen the idea that she is a horrible model and a purveyor of unchristian, perverted messages. IMO, of course.

At least Adele does not purvey the messages that Lady Gaga does. And is a way better model than Lady gaga. Technically better singer or not. 👍

My best guess is that those accusing Perry of satanism just want attention, even from anonymous strangers on the internet like myself. But their statements don’t have great shock value inasmuch as this forum has seen accusations against whole sections of society of being in league with Satan. (I recall that accusation being made here against all Protestants.)

I was figuring that comment was meant as a parody of things said by Jack Chick and the like. But I agree that it’s silly if meant seriously – and it’s troubling that the internet has gotten to the point that I cannot be confident that it isn’t. :o
You may be right. I haven’t been following this thread closely, but when I saw that posted it set me off. I will now sink into my chair and shut my big flapper. 🙂
