I’m a fellow collector of comic books and I was wondering if anyone else here is. I’m a fan of Batman, the New Line Horror Comics, Alan Moore, Frank Miller and others. 😃
 
I mostly do Marvel comics…X-Men, Wolverine, Iron Man, Punisher. But mostly anything with Wolvie…been a fan of his as long as I can remember… 👍
 
I’m into horror comics.:bigyikes: That’s my favorite genre.But about super heroes I like Batman.
 
Hey, everyone. I’m a self proclaimed Comic Book Geek. And love all Genre’s and publishers that have good art, good stories and good taste. Though I’m particular to DC comics -And almost a theologian on the Batman Universe.:knight1:
 
Mostly Marvel fan here. Was into the new X-Men big time in late 70s-80s, but dropped it when a) nearly every Marvel comic was an X-Something, and b) the stories got just too dark and depressing.

My all-time favorite comic hero is Dr. Strange.

The only regular series I have left that I’m currently reading is Knights of the Dinner Table.

The Valiant line was pretty interesting while it lasted. I loved their revivals of Solar and Magnus Robot Fighter.

I dipped into the DC universe recently with the Justice mini-series. Wow, that’s sure different. Poison Ivy and Wonder Woman never looked better, but the characters still seem “campy” in spite of the updated look.
 
I’m a comic fan. Who couldn’t guess with the name Sonic, right?

Some of my favorite comics have included Asterix, the golden age and silver age Batman, Usagi Yojimbo, The Shadow, Sonic the Hedge Hog, the old Disney comics, and Good Cheese to name a few. 🙂
 
Archie comics? You bet they do! Right, Sonic? 😃

This mom grew up with Archie and the gang; the kids grew up with Sonic and Knux. Go, Riverdale and Mobius!
 
I’m a huuuuuuuuge comic nerd. ❤️ but I haven’t been following much since the 90s. But I’m a big fan of Alan Moore, Frank Miller, Image comics and 90s era Marvel. I was so into Team7 and Gen13:bowdown:
 
i love comic books…
mostly the old ones though ( i’m only 15 so they are old to me anyway).
I agree with whoever up there who said that the stories were getting too dark.
Although i love the spiderman comic where Gwen Stacy died. A little death here and there is ok.
I like Spiderman and X-men (well, i did before the x-men started multiplying, now there are just too many of them).
I like some other ones too, mostly marvel, i never really got into the DC and all.
Avengers are cool too.
 
Sandman. I love Neil Gaiman.

I also followed “The Dreaming”, “House of Secrets” (the new version, not the original), and any of Gaiman’s “Death” miniseries.

If it was published by DC Vertigo in the early-to-mid 90s (my college years, when spending money on comic books was acceptable), I probably gave it at least one chance.

Does anyone here now read their comics in digital format: cbr, rar, pdf, etc.?

I’m a huge comics fan for most of my life. I started reading when I was 10. It all started with the Marvel Universe Trading Cards in '91. I never looked back. 🙂 I got out for a couple years in the late '90’s when the stories and art were just terrible, but fell back in when Marvel launched it’s Ultimate line.

Mostly a Marvel reader… Spider-man, Avengers, Daredevil, Hulk, FF. I love Dr. Strange, don’t care much for X-men. I read all the Ultimate books. I also enjoy some of Bendis’ and Kirkman’s other work… Powers, Invincible, Walking Dead.

This reminds me… Yesterday was Wednesday and I didn’t pick up my pulls.
 
Every so often I will pick up Marvel graphic novels for the ultimate line. I am years behind but grew up with these titles in the marvel universe and still enjoy the characters & stories.

I have about the first dozen grahic novels for spider man and the x-men. I ve been looking at the fantistic four series for a while but, usually end up passing it over, when I have some time and $ to spend on comics. I end up sticking with spidey and the x-men.

I really like how the ult line has made a clean slate and does’nt have evry book tied to wolverine. The regular marvel U looks like a big mess thats all about quantity and short on quality. I hope the ult U stays the way it has, cuz I am not about to start buying tons of grahic novels to keep up.

The 90’s comics started the mature wave that helped the comic book industry to be respected and integrated into the Pop Cult. eye.- Alan Moore with his exciting tales of the definitive “Swamp Thing” and “Watchmen”. Neil Gaiman with “The Sandman” and his novel “American Gods”. Miller with “Dark Knight Returns”, “Ronin”,“300”,and"Robocop".James O’Barr with his definitive “The Crow”. “Gen 13”'s questionable characters and writing with Jim lee’s pencils. Not to mention “Wildcats” And remembering Rob Liefields dynamic push from “Avengers-Gen 13-X-men” -And all along the sub culture pushed it’s way into middle America through the “Wrestling” phase that kids were going through.-And the popular mid class wrestlers showed their liking for comics. Ex: “Raven” wearing a “Sandman T”&“Sting” wearing “Crow”-like face paint.👍
 
**I like David Boswell, in particular the “Reid Fleming: World’s Toughest Milkman” series. I like Harvey Pekar, R. Crumb as well. **
 
Hi all this is my first post 🙂

I am a comic collector, and I’m a reservist with my local comics shop. My reserve list includes Superman, Superman/Batman, Supergirl & the Legion of Superheroes, Amazing Spider-Man, and Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Space Between. (Yes, that last is the full name of that title.)

I was collecting the new regular Supergirl title but became disgusted with the way the writers were making her a “bad girl”, and had it taken off my list.

The aforementioned comics shop offered $3 tickets to see Spider-Man 3 for faithful reservists such as myself. I took advantage, and got tickets for me and my friend Dan from work. We saw the 7:15 PM showing last Friday evening, where the comics shop owner and his minions were also present.

Actually, I have a ton of old comics from the 70’s and 80’s that I need to go through, as right now they are taking up space. Hopefully I can sell a bunch of 'em on eBay.

Of course Archie is fine!

And that reminds me – I’ve also started slowly collecting the book compilations of Little Lulu.
