Praise be Jesus Christ now and forever !
I hope you never stop noticing the beauty of it all.
Like a movie.
I always used to say that, I was so surprised at how the Holy Spirit flowed through everything.
I didn’t even know it was the Holy Spirit. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Welcome back to the Church! After reading your original post I have a few suggestions:

First, I would make a thorough examination of conscience, there are many versions available online, but something like this one is a good example. Since you’re unable to receive baptism at this time, for the time being, you may want to consider what is known as baptism of desire.

Second, the reason why it is important to discard anything in your apartment that is offensive to God is because, certain items, however innocent they may seem, are open doors for the demonic. From personal experience, demons will enter anywhere they are welcomed. Moreover, if one truly loves God they wouldn’t want to hurt Him by owning items that are offensive to Him and contradict the Faith. This is also a sin against the First Commandment. Furthermore, Psalm 96:5 states that the gods of the Gentiles are demons. With that said, by owning items that represent pagan gods, Hindu and Buddhist statues for example, not only are they sinful but by their presence alone, they operate as a green light for the demon that is associated with the statue to enter your home.

Third, in regard to the discovery of several bats in your apartment, I should tell you that many saints experienced demonic attacks in the form of animals. St. Faustina was harrassed by black cats and huge black dogs, St. Jean Vianney’s arch nemesis were rats and St. Anthony of the Desert battled a variety of animals and beasts. This is all to say that demons can take the form of animals.

While I cannot confirm nor deny this in your case, unfortunately, I have experienced it myself in the form or birds, mice and bats. The mice found pleasure not in food, but conversely, in desecrating religious objects. In truth, they urinated in front of religious images, soiled religious books and bit off the leg and two fingers that were once raised in a blessing on my Baby Jesus statue. Poor Baby Jesus. Confirmed by my spiritual director at the time, it was all because I had items within my home that offended God and He thus allowed the demonic mice to enter and torment me since I gave them permission by virtue of possessing the sinful items. Once I cleaned up the house they immediately disappeared.

Lastly, you would do well as others have suggested to pray the Rosary daily and I would advise for educational purposes to listen to talks by exorcist, Fr. Chad Ripperger. This one would be a good place to start.

God bless you

Oh you bet! God knows how much I want to get right with Him. I’ve been devoting lots of time to studying the faith and praying (I’m working on Saint Paul’s command to “pray without ceasing”). And it’s wonderful how much better my life has become since I reconnect with the Lord!

Yeah, that was my fear… Let’s hope they were just normal bats 😬 😬
pray the Rosary daily
I’m actually visiting my parents right now and I found the rosary I had as a child. It was forgotten in an old dusty drawer. I washed it and I’m praying it every day! Poetically enough, the cross is half broken… I’ll see if I can glue it or something.

Thanks for the advice and kind words, my friend. God bless you too!

I didn’t mean to suggest that the Council abolished the Index. The Index was abolished about six months after the Council ended. However, the abolition of the Index was clearly a logical extension of the Council’s reforms.

Hello and welcome. We all do stupid stuff when we are young. There is no sin that can’t be forgiven. Please throw out all the occult stuff and if you love the statue of David that you offered to venus, just get another one.
Go talk to a priest, he can advise you about what to do and do look up the life of Bartolo Longo who was a satanist in his youth but became a strong Catholic and proponent of the rosary. I’ll be praying for you.

I owe a lot to Our Lady of Fatima, She’s the one who brought me back to the Faith and out of my own “life” of horrible sin.
Glad our Lady was that kind to you, brother! God bless!
Brazil the most Catholic country on earth demographic-wise,
Yeah, that’s great! The state I come from is actually one of the most catholic in the country (73%). But right now I live in Rio (45%).

That being said, not many people I know take religious observance very seriously around here, specially in my generation…
