I am wondering why you dont see or hear of people coming out of Islam? I know people leave all the time; it happens in all religions; but why is it hard to find others like me?

Welcome Home. Fear could be one reason. My prayers for you in your journey. May you find the peace and happiness you search for in Jesus. He will not disappoint.👍

Perhaps it is because of the consequences faced by somebody who leaves Islam. Several months ago I read a story from an Indian paper about a convert from Islam. He wrote about how every newborn is touched by Satan; but Jesus was not. This led him to question his Islamic faith. As he was praying during one of the normal prayer times, he saw the face of Jesus before him. He was redirected to the site where I read the article from New Advent.org.

Here are 2 converts to Christianity, a man and his pregnant wife, a month ago, he says:

Most Muslims who convert usually practice their new religion quietly, seeking to avoid attention, or flee the country to the West. In Egypt, at the very least they face ostracism by their families, but if their conversion becomes known they can receive death threats from militants, or harassment by police, who use laws against “insulting religion” or “disturbing public order” as a pretext to target them.

My friend is a convert from Islam in the US. His extended family tried to kidnap their children and murder him and her extended family obtained an Islamic divorce on her behalf. They’ve changed their names to Christian names and now lead a quiet life. They’ll talk about their faith journey, though not much about their family problems, with those who ask. They don’t broadcast it from the rooftops, though.

Welcome home! May your presence give others who long to live their Christian lives outwardly the strength and courage to do so!

Something else which might be interesting to find out is how many Muslims convert into one of the Eastern or Oriental Catholic Churches since those are more prominent in many Muslim areas than the Latin Church.

Muslims are afraid to leave because of the serious consequences. The best a departing muslim could hope for is being disowned by their family or on the worst side they will be killed. How do I know this? Because I have muslim friends from Pakistan, Indonesia and Malaysia and they have told me this. So much for peace and tolerance in Islam!!

Off topic very quickly, it was very easy for the guy to translate this interview and not leave the ‘true’ meaning out of it.
Why is it so hard to translate the quran???
Maybe this guy can do it for them…

Because 20% of the koran is actually in aramaic which is assumed to be arabic.

The quran contains sentences which are incomplete and not fully intelligible without the aid of commentaries; foreign words, unfamiliar arabic words and words used with other than the normal meaning; adjectives and verbs not inflected without observance of the concord of gender and number; illogical and ungrammatically applied pronouns which sometimes have no referent; and predicates which in rhymed passages are often remote from their subjects. Ali Dashti, Iranian Shiite Scholar

It seems allah would have better grammer than this! 😃

i can tell you one belief where people leave in droves, and its well documented! the falsetower. and we hear about that all the time. especially you see here on CAF, you see ex witnesses all the time. myself included. so, no its not surprising that people leave these kind of things because they are searching for truth.

In the U.K.,Muslims who convert are persecuted by other Muslims.I couldn’t see Christians living in Islamic countries being allowed to persecute fellow Christians for converting to Islam. The link below is to a BBC TV programme debating Islam but didn’t really address the aforementioned.I sent comments to them today
about how they have managed to wangle into the debate remarks made about abuse by catholic priests, twice in the last couple of weeks:-
