Today, Nov. 7, my father and I were both baptized and confirmed officially in the Catholic Church. We have been in RCIA for about 9 months or so, and it has been difficult and rewarding a wait at the same time; but, we both feel we had in fact been waiting our entire lives to come to our true spiritual home, the Church. It is impossible to truly express how wonderfully happy and content we are right now. The removal of our old sinful selves through baptism, our enlightenment with the Holy Spirit through Confirmation, and the subsequent acceptance into Christ’s Body through the Holy Eucharist are the greatest possible gifts - God Himself. I cannot imagine a more perfect thing as this. I would like to thank everyone on these forums who gave me counsel and guidance, spiritually and intellectually, during my RCIA journey. And I look forward to continuing my life with all of you in the universal Church forever. Thank you so much, and peace be with you all. 🙂

Congratulations - having been recently confirmed myself, I know what a special day this is for you and it will be a day you will always remember. Blessings to you and your father.

Thank you so much everyone. I also went to my first (Saturday) Sunday Mass tonight, and it was wonderful to finally participate in the Eucharist. It’s so huge I can’t fully grasp it to be honest. One of the biggest things that has hit me, though, is that at baptism all my past sins are gone; I’m a new person. That is such a great gift to me. I am so eager to live my new life in Christ. 🙂
