I once attended a Divine Liturgy by a UGCC priest who commemorated Il Papa as the “Bishop of Rome.”

When later I asked him why he did that, he simply responded “Because that is what he is . . .”

Sure, the Pontiff was born in a small village in the Italian province of Bavaria!
