Well, the current Church relies on the Medieval Church, which in turn relied on the Early Church, which in turn relied on Christ.

Perhaps relying on Christ is Medieval. If so, it brings a new definition to the term, thereby removing the emotional snobbery associated with the use of the term by those who are so thoroughly secularized and oh, so modern.

It would appear that Mother has a brand new jones.

In the article, the word “medieval” was used to mean antiquated, archaic, and/or primitive.
 
It’s Mother Jones. What did you expect–a dispassionate examination of the relevant facts? Cogent arguments based on said facts? Ha, ha, ha! Catholic Church=Evil White Male Oppressor (love the picture they used) is such a juicier “article” source.
