The humidity is usually pretty high here during the summer. It’s more muggy than usual. I tend to stay indoors during the day and just “hide” from the climate during this time of the year.

That’s mostly what I do, now that I have air conditioning, is stay inside. We have more humidity here, than when I was a child, so it gets muggy sometimes. As a tot, we had dry heat, here. But, now, we have more lakes and trees, so that increases the humidity. However, I’m glad we have more lakes and trees. The trees are beautiful and add shade from the sun while the lakes ease the drought, which we’re having.

I almost did die, because I hadn’t had an a/c for at least seven years. On July 25th, a friend came by to give me a ride to an early appointment at the Fort Worth VA Clinic. Inside, my house guest could not get me up. My dogs could not get me up. I was barely conscious and could not get up. My house guest brought my ride inside. She could not get me up and called an ambulance.
At the ER, they told me I was dehydrated, had heat exhaustion and my kidneys had shut down. My friend saved my life, by calling the ambulance. I was in the hospital for a week. The day of my release, another friend bought me an a/c and the next day his daughter and her fiance picked it up, came to my house, and installed in a window of my bedroom. I’ve completely recovered, since then.

The near brush with death woke me up to a lot of things.

Yes, I remember reading that in the CAF prayer warriors support group before leaving due to circumstances in life. I am subject to heat exhuastion and have been all my life as well as fevers with unknown origins. So the A/C is a blessing and almost a necessity for me.

I am so thankful that you are doing better. It is such a blessing to see you posting once again and seenig you posting every day. I remember when you were gone there for awhile wondering what was going on with you. I remember praying for you, even though I had no idea of what was going on. I am so thankful that the CAF is graced with your presence here. Can’t imagine the esteemed halls of this forum without you.

Being close to death changes a person, I have been close to it many times. I desire heaven so much right now, but am thankful that God still wishes me to stay down here. Wherever He wants me to be, I want to be.

Well, I still believe that sin blocks the grace of God from specific parts of nature.

Only if God agrees or wants to be blocked. Obviously no one can prevent God to do whatever he wants to do.

And, that without that grace, sin abounds. This applies to the whole planet and spatial bodies, too, my belief system.

I understand, but I respectfully disagree. There is absolutely no evidence that any act, be it “sinful” or not can have such wide reaching consequences. There is no law of nature which can be held “responsible”. If you look at Genesis, it is clearly stated that God actively cursed the creation (no passive permissiveness there). There was no natural law which would spill over the disobedience of one insignificant human on one insignificant planet and all the vast universe is now “affected”. That kind of “reasoning” would have been ok a few thousand years ago, when the depth of ignorance could not even be fathomed, but not today.

I’ve been in band and military: goof offs can foul it up for everybody.

Again, only if God wishes / wants / permits / endorses it. If there is no God, all that is perfectly fine. Natural laws, natural consequences. Someone makes a mistake, and there will be unintended consequences. But with God you can’t have that simple explanation. You can’t have it both ways. Either God is just and loving, and then God does not allow bystanders to be hurt, or not. You cannot have your cake and eat it too.

We are material beings with immaterial minds, spirits and emotions which our bodies and attitudes evidence and emote. I respectfully submit that the spirit world is different from and should be regarded differently than, the material world.

Your arguments are reasonable. But, I do not swerve from my faith for them. In my life, I keep my reason as a handmaid to my faith; subsequently, I subject the reasoning of others to my faith. So, consequently, you and I have different perspectives of things.

There’s a verse, where referring to the Jews exiled in Babylon, the prophet relays God’s word that God was giving the Promised Land a 70 year sabbath from His peoples’ sins.
So, there is documentation (which I accept and recognize as valid, your viewpoint notwithstanding) for the view that sin pollutes the land.
Remember, God is righteous and will not mix with sin. God the Father keeps Himself apart from sin. That’s what He sent His Son, come in the flesh, Jesus Christ to do.

It is Catholics that assert that God is almighty, God can do whatever he pleases (some Catholics - not all - even say that God can do logical impossibilities). From that it follows logically that God cannot be coerced. If God does not tolerate “sin”, that is his own choosing.

If you follow Luther, who said that “reason must be made the handmaiden of faith”, or even stronger “reason must be trampled underfoot”, that is your business. In one aspect I agree with you, even if you did not say it outright: “reason and faith cannot mix”. If something is reasonable, there is no need for faith. If one needs faith then it is unreasonable. Have fun my friend. Our differences are irreconcilable. Wishing you the best.
