We show our respect for others through common courtesy,
Behaving towards them as we want them to treat us accordingly,
For loving courtesy shows all those with whom we interact,
That they are worthy of love by the way with them we act.
Courtesy is found both in good manners and loving anticipations
For in foreseeing others’ needs we can better prepare our reactions.
Good manners are habits we form to treat others well and kindly,
And our timely actions can respond to their present needs lovingly.
To form good habitual manners, we must actively repeat the action
That we want to become our default good mannerly reaction,
For by repeating the deed, its becomes our response inherently,
Enabling us to love and respect others almost instinctively.
Every way you act towards another should reflect their dignity
As a human person lovingly created by God for all eternity.
Each person deserves respect from conception to death natural,
From each and every other person, from one and from all.
Kindness and respect should be part of everything we do,
Honoring those around us and showing our love for them too.
Gentleness, paying attention, softness in gestures and speech
Show others we love them and practice what we so often preach.
People who see us in our actions should to themselves say
“There is someone who loves in God’s most holy way
For they treat others with gentleness, kindness, and love
Just as their loving Father does in majestic Heaven above.”
