If you didn’t have the chance to catch the broadcast on EWTN, the Holy Father had a Communal Penance Service with indidivual Confession.

My friends, we’ve just been led by example. Would that every bishop and pastor received a DVD of this service. This was a marvelous example of how the Rite should be celebrated.👍

It was a marvel to see 20,000 people seek out the confessors. Pope Benedict, himself, heard confession.

Well, I made it through the Parish Reconciliation service tonight! lol.

It was actually very nice. I do recall that somehow I missed it last year. I thought I was home free because with 6 priests, I was sure they would use the confessionals! The joke was on me! They didn’t. It was all face to face. lol.

At any rate, it was only my third confession but it was wonderful, a very sweet, kind priest (the only kind I’ve encountered so far anyway) and I’m getting so much more comfortable with it. I’m getting over my face to face phobia. Plus it was very moving and humbling to see line after line of people waiting to confess. Wow.

Can’t even tell you how peaceful I feel now and I really tend to be very anxious and do an inordinate amount of worrying about a lot of things.

Thanks for all the advice and explanations on the other post. You’re such a nice and helpful bunch of people here and now I feel so good and I’m looking forward to Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter. I love being Catholic!

We also had ours last night (living in Australia) and it was my first confession. It was really emotional for me but I’m extremely grateful I went through it. My mum did point out that it was quite casual compared to regular confession and she personally preferred it this way.
