Was wondering if anyone here knows anything about this group, or about their founder, Msgr. Luigi Guissani? The little I know about them is interesting, and I’d love to learn more and hear people’s opinions on them.

Also, I have seen it repeatedly stated that Pope Francis is “associated” with this group, but I have never seen it explained exactly what his connection with them is. Anyone know what his connection to CL is?

I don’t know what it is either, but NCReporter doesn’t like it, so it must be good.

Yes there are plenty of groups across the globe, and i participate in one in my town,clonline.org/ is the official website, plenty of languages to choose from and to see if there is a group in your area.

Msgr. Guissani is also in the works for cannonization i think, and his books are brilliant to say the least.

But what’s the down-home version of it? What’s the movement’s “flavor?”

I could say the FSSP is a Society of Apostolic Life dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the classical Roman Rite, and to providing pastoral care to the people who attend such liturgies, and that’s correct. But there are also deeper spiritual things within the FSSP.

If you are looking for a simple way to define CL you are going to have a tough time. The best way to get to know us, is to “come and see”.

We meet all over the country in many different cities at least once a week for what is called the “School of Community” (us.clonline.org/default.asp?id=747).

You can find them here: us.clonline.org/default.asp?id=821

As for our connection with Pope Francis, simply put, he was a very close friend of Msgr. Giussani’s, as was our Pope Emeritus.
