I’d like to share an experience and would like to pose some questions as well.
I attend daily mass M-F at a parish near my workplace and Sunday mass at my parish home. I’ve experienced this at both locations, however the majority of the times is at the M-F noon mass. There have been times during communion that the host tastes really sweet. Along with this sweet taste is usually a feeling of great inner peace and comfort. At all other times the host tastes normal, sometimes stale and sometimes bitter. There may be long periods when I don’t experience this and then there are times when this happens out of the blue. I’m a cradle catholic and had never really understood the True presence of Christ in the Eucharist until about three years ago. Since then I cannot explain what the Eucharist means to me in words. As the church says, it is the source and summit of the Christian faith. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there anything in the host that would make it sweet?
Thanks and God Bless.
