I’m thirty years old. You look at me not genuflecting, you would say “he’s irreverent and not pious”. After all, I’m thirty! Why would a thirty year old man NOT genuflect?
But by judging the practice, you are judging the soul. An unknown back ailment, arthritis in both knees and both feet would help me not genuflecting, wouldn’t it?
But when I’m without a cane, I’m sure there are some who think “tsk tsk, he’s not doing it right”, all the while I can’t feel my left leg and there’s a sharp pain in my lower back and left hip.
There are others like me, and others who don’t place as much emphasis on the externals. Just because you do not see an action, does not mean that action is not happening within the mind.
