Are there churchs that are totally not of the Latin Rite, and are NOT Roman Catholic that are now totally “in communion” with the Bishop of Rome?

I have heard about Oriental Orthodox and others and can find a list on this forum of a bunch of different (and similarly) named churchs and rites, but what does it mean to be not Roman, but NOT in schism or communion or whatever?

What is the fullest and clearest and unambigious unity agreed by the Pope and the other chruch? Or is it all up in the air or by degree or partial?

Note that there are also certain churches with limited communion and not in full union with Rome.

The most poignant is the limited communion between the Chaldean Catholic Church (which is also in full union with Rome) and the Assyrian Church of the East (Which is not in union with Rome), who, due to the circumstances in Iraq, have agreed to allowing the sacraments to each others’ faithful, and are of the same Rite, but split off from each other over reunion in the (IIRC) 1500’s. THere is slow, and not steady, work towards reunification or at least full communion.

Then again, the list linked to are churches in full union with Rome, which includes full communion as well.

Throughout most of Orthodoxy, the two are not the same; Union includes being subordinate, while communion is allowing reception of the sacraments and concelebration.

Two other groups who have peititioned for Catholic communion are the Traditional Anglican Church (about 100,000 members worldwide) and the National Catholic Church (formerly, the “Polish National Catholic Church”; about 25,000 members in the U.S.).

I’m not sure about the situation with the TAC at this time, but I know that there is limited communion between the NCC and the CC in extenuating circumstances.

Regarding the Sacrament of Marriage, the Syrian Orthodox Church and the Armenian Apostolic Church also have official agreements on intermarriage with the Catholic Church in the United States. I’m not certain about the specifics of the ceremonies, but I assume that such an agreement would entail communion in that specific instance during the marriage ceremony(?)…

Blessings,
Marduk
