Communion fell on the floor

Hello, Im a Altar Boy. A priest found an communion in the floor and told me to put it somewhere that I dont understand (The choir is too loud). So what I did since I see the priest softly wipes the communion plate. Because on my understanding its the communion’s particles. So, I just put the fallen communion in the Chalice. I didn’t know where to put it. What can I do so I can do some improvement whether this situation happens to me again

This actually happened at Mass today. My wife was next in line to receive the Precious Blood and she said the Eucharistic minister stopped her picked up a piece of a consecrated host and consumed it. There was only 1 guy ahead of her, she said she isnt sure what happened but that isnt really what should have been done. The Consecrated Host should be placed in water to dissolve then poured down the sacrarium.
 
This is exactly what should have been done.

It could have also been dissolved in water and poured down the sacrarium, but what the EMHC did is also perfectly acceptable.
 
Consume the Host. Then place a purificator on the spot where it fell so that the priest can clean the area carefully.

This is exactly why I wish people would receive directly on the tongue while a paten is placed under their chin.
 
A paten is not a magic device that will prevent accidents.
I have actually witnessed more accidents where a host was dropped when a paten was used than when it wasn’t, including one that required the priest myself and 2 others crawling on the floor looking for the host that got “flung” when a well-meaning altar server tried to “catch” a dropped host from someone receiving on the tongue.

Accidents happen, how one receives will not stop them from happening.

I’ll take your word for it. Speaking personally, I have never witnessed an accident when a paten is used; in fact, I struggle to imagine how the plate could be the cause of any accident. However, everything I’ve written is my personal experience and prefernce. I don’t doubt your experience or question your opinions. I think we both want to protect Our Eucharistic Lord.
