We are called to do the Will of God, not our wills. We are here to the Glory of God.

The holier and more sanctified we grow, the more we want to exist to do the Will of God. And to allow God to shine through us as an imitation of Christ.

Thankyou kristaok. I ignored God for decades. Went about my business, only went to church for funerals. Then, one day, God hit me with the ugly stick. You know the one. Hey you, check yourself out. How are you living. Look at your sinning ways. Why are you ignoring me. That ugly stick.

I was in Mass at 8 am next day. And haven’t looked back. I have no Catholic, or even other faith friends outside the Church. My group are a bunch of people who have not yet found God and believe I am now insane.

I used to think, in and when ignoring God, religion was a bogus construct, every spirituality was all good, even new age,.

But then, with a poke in the heart and soul by God’s ugly stick, I found my home again. The Catholic Mass, and the physical church. I don’t care what other Catholics or non Catholics think of me. My only concern is what God thinks of me.

If I had cared, I would not have had the courage to walk into a Cathedral for Mass. but God gives us courage.

Today, in Mass, the Eucharist, after going from bread to the Body and Blood of Christ, was held up by the Priest

And literally glowed. I mean glowed. Only a Priest, whose hands, consecrated, work for Christ, can turn bread to the miracle of Jesus Christ.

And today, I realised that.

There are wonderful people in my Church, and those still falling on the road to holiness. But hey, we are all pilgrims, so it’s all good.

There has also been evil, real evil in my Diocese, in my Parish, in my Church, but it has not, and never will prevail.

We are called to love God above our human friends and family. We are called to choose God over them.

Try going to my Church. The attacks on anyone going inside from all the non Catholics, due to the history, continues through local, national, international media, social media, physical things like the loud fence, protests, marches, remembrances.
You name it.

No one will ever keep me from celebrating Mass or going to celebrate the Sacrament and of Reconcilliation, regardless.

It’s a two way street, people outside the church attack those within the church. Perpetually dragging up history. It gets really old…then we get ’ all Priests are x y or z '.

I prefer receiving on the tongue as well. To me personally, receiving in the hand is abominable since I was raised to only receive on the tongue out of respect for our Lord and Saviour. As children, we were taught that only the priest could touch the Host. But I realize that many today do receive in the hand. And that is between themselves, the priest and God who knows their hearts.
