Same here. I grew up receiving in the hand and am far more comfortable with it, but I’d be just fine if the Church starts to mandate on the tongue. I think it is just a matter of habit.

I usually receive in the hand but if my arm is injured or I am carrying a baby I receive on the tongue. Both are allowed.

I read that too. Perhaps the reverence would be realizing that hosts are meant to be consumed right away and not handled by unconsecrated hands and taken home.
