Communion of the Saints?

Your second and third point makes the biggest impact on me. I can almost visualize the activity around the alter from what you said and that is pretty amazing.

I never thought about praying the rosary like you described it - or perhaps it never clicked. Mary helping me to become closer to Jesus (not leading me or interceding in the way I, as a Protestant, have thought about it). Baby steps …

And your fifth point - I’ve always felt close to God in Catholic churches. I wonder if the communion of saints is why??

That could certainly be part of it. I rather suspect, though, that His presence in the Tabernacle - Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity - might have more to do with that feeling, since when we enter the Church, we are physically in His presence, in a way that we are not, in other places.

Thank you, Water, for talking about the love of the saints - especially in terms of Jesus’ commandment to love. I think many people misunderstand the concept of love that Christ is talking about - it’s sometimes not the easy kind of love (not for me, anyway).

It’s interesting how you described Jesus allowing the saints to intercede as a way of showing his love for us. I’ve not thought of it that way before.

I’ve only recently started to learn about some of the saints, and I definitely want to learn more.

I’m also glad to hear you’ve had prayers answered (and continue to) .

I’m very interested in having an understanding of the communion of the saints (you noticed I said “understanding”, not “better understanding” because I really don’t think I have a good basic concept ).

I did a search on CA and didn’t find a lot of information.

The Bible Christian Society has a CD you can order called The Communion of Saints that will help you understand. He has a lot of other talks you can get on many of the topics that anti-Catholics like to question.

The One Church CD was my burning bush.

That’s good, I agree it is a hard to grasp idea, but once you understand it thats good. This article may clear this up for you.
