Inquisitive:
Is it permissible to receive Holy Communion more than once a day?
Canon 917 “A person who has received the Most Holy Eucharist may receive it once again on the same day only during the celebration of the Eucharist in which the person participates, with due regard for the prescription of can. 921,§2” (which is the case of danger of death).

One might receive at a communion service or Mass the first time, but the second time would require participation in a Mass.

Yes. For example, many attend daily mass and receive communion. Later in the day, if they attend a funeral mass or a wedding mass, they may receive communion again, as it is a separate liturgy.

What is discouraged is the notion that if I attend the same liturgy of the day several times over, I can be more holy and get more graces by receiving again. For instance, going to all three masses offered in a parish on a given Sunday. I can’t say it is forbidden with documented certainty, but this thinking is discouraged. One may, however, go to the Saturday night vigil mass and then again on Sunday morning with no problem.
