The big problem with OCP is that most of its music is more along the lines of soft pop than it is sacred. The lyrics are also problematic, as you have probably noticed.

You could get away with the Kyrie, by the way, because it’s Greek. 😃

I am actually going to use the communion antiphon from Fr. Sam Weber this week.
I hope I don’t get in trouble for it. I will follow it up with a common hymn.

If worse comes to worse, you could charitably state that, according to the authoritative documents of the Church, the antiphons are the default, while the hymn is the last option insofar as Holy Communion is concerned. It’s interesting. Even at the Papal Masses, the Sistene Chapel choir sings only the antiphon for Holy Communion. There is no meditation hymn. It’s just an observation.

I just thought I would let everyone know that a couple of weeks ago I added the Communion Anitiphon for communion. I just found out tonight that it was well received and now other cantors are asking me where they can find the antiphons.
My gamble so far has paid off.
 
“Holy Gifts” … your thoughts? 'Twas sung at the beginning of the communion procession, followed by “Taste and See” sung by the assembly.

Good for you! We may be giving these a try. Brick by brick we are tearing down the wall created by the four-hymn sandwich.

That is indeed wonderful news. I have found that most people, once they understand that the propers are preferred to hymns, are supportive of a gradual (pun intended) move in that direction.
 
Does anyone know where on the internet I can find the lyrics for “Christians Let Us Love One Another”?
 
Thanks, donr, for your reply. I did just want it for my own use because I was so moved by the words. I was able to make out most of the words. The word “sample” did cover up some of them. I go to a Lutheran vesper service that meets in the Catholic church and we usually sing one hymn from the Catholic hymnal in addition to our vesper service. To me, this hymn kind of says it all.
