I just got back from Good Friday mass. When I went up to Communion, I stuck out my tongue to receive the Eucharist in my mouth like I always do. The lady distributing just said “Dans tes mains monsieur” and shoved The Eucharist into my hands like it was an easter bonbon. I was rather taken aback. Is this acceptable and what should I have done in this situation?

No it’s not acceptable.

What should you have done at the moment? Accepted the Eucharist in your hands.

What should you do next week? Contact the priest and discuss the poor training the Extraordinary Minster of Holy Commuion has received and ask the priest to instruct all EMHC’s regarding the communicant’s option to receive on the tongue.

1.) You didn’t go to Good Friday Mass. Whatever it is called in your neck of the woods, it was not a Mass.

2.) Yes, what 1ke said. This woman has received poor training. She needs a refresher.
