I went to a Community Lenten Service. It occurred at the First Baptist Church.
The Congregational Church choir sang superbly.
A lady from the Lutheran church spoke about Jesus sending the Holy Spirit.
Two hymns we sang were The Comforter Has Come and Holy Spirit, Thou Art Welcome.

Has your church been used for a Community Lenten Service?
Has your priest spoken a sermon at a Lenten service?

We have ecumenical services to which we are invited as Catholics around Thanksgiving here.
Father will host one, but he rarely attends one.

The title of the Community Lenten Service here is “It’s All About Jesus”.

In the Lent Missalette, one of the hymns is entitled Led By the Spirit.
This song is a perfect companion to the songs that were sung by the Congregational Church choir.
Jesus shall have God the Father send the Comforter. Once the Comforter, the Spirit is sent and has arrived, the Spirit shall lead.

The next Community Lenten Service occurred at the First Congregation United Church of Christ.
The opening hymn was Jesus Walked This Lonesome Valley.
One of the prayers expressed: Help us to respond to your love in new ways each and every day.
