Hi. I wasn’t sure where to ask this question. I hope this is ok. It might fall under “the common good”… since I’m seeking information that will help my mother and I to make a living. We’re struggling financially, right now. Would it be considered “the common good” for people like me to have this information?
Code:
I am thinking about changing careers in the near future.. and working out of my home. This is becoming necessary, due to the fact that I am sole caregiver to my elderly mother.. who has Alzheimer’s Disease. An “idea” for home employment was given to me today.

But, before I contact them.. I am wondering if there is such a thing.. as a “list” of companies/corporations which DO NOT support.. or outright oppose.. Catholic ethics and teachings (i.e., provide funding for abortion clinics.. birth control drugs.. use of child labor, etc.).. and should, therefore.. be avoided by a person making a career change and attempting to be a conscientious Catholic. (Whew! I hope my wording wasn’t too complex!).

Of particular interest to me.. is the Mary Kay Cosmetic Company. Thank you, and I hope that my question isn’t out of place. This could be very important for my mother and me. God bless.

Bump to top. Sorry. I’m really hoping someone will have some info on this subject. God bless. 🙂

Marie Veronica, I don’t know about Mary Kay, but I typed “companies that support planned parenthood” into my search bar, and got lots of responses. I only looked at the first one, and didn’t see Mary Kay. Why don’t you try that, and maybe you’ll find the information you need. I think you might also try contacting them, and just plain old ask them.

I didn’t do well selling Stampin’ Up, because I’m not much of an entrepreneur, but I have known people who made a lot of money with it. Every penny I made, I just bought more stamps anyway.

I would just suggest that with the Mary Kay product, don’t jump into a huge investment right away. My friend’s upline talked her into buying about $3000 worth of product, most of which is still sitting in the spare room. Take your time and see if it’s something you really want to do.

Hello, I had the same concerns looking for work at home opportunities but found one that not only is fun but most importantly has a foundation I can get behind. It is Beauticontrol, spa and skin care products. Years ago they were the “color analysis” consultants. Anyway, they have the WHO foundation, (Women Helping Others) which supports and donates to grass root organizations that support women and children. I looked all over the foundation site before I signed up looking for any sign of donations to planned parenthood types or united way. There wasn’t any. Yay!

Good luck in your search. I hope this helps.

Beauticontrol was started by a former Mary Kay consultant. I’m allergic to most makeup, but didn’t have a problem with this.

The only downside is that Mary Kay is a much more recognizable product. You might have to work a little harder – depending on where you live, and if this product is well-known there – than with Mary Kay.

Thank you both, so much. I appreciate your (name removed by moderator)ut. I couldn’t find anything adverse about Mary Kay… either. So, I feel a little better about going forward. Thanks also, for the warning about being “bamboozled” into buying too much product to stock. Not that I could do that… lol. We’re living pretty much paycheck to paycheck right now. But it was a warning, worth giving. So thanks much. And God bless. 🙂
