Comparing Catholic Church teachings to other Christian teachings

As to the opening post, it really depends on which group you want a comparison with, there are thousands of protestant communities with differing theologies so its fairly difficult to give comparisons with them unless you give a specific group of denominations or a a particular denomination with which to compare too.
 
Im afraid the Eastern Orthodox and the Catholics will have to disagree as to the assertion of who schismed from who.

And besides this particular thread is not really for the discussion of the schisms but really about comparative doctrine and teaching. Its best that we leave assertions such as Orthodoxy split from catholicism and vice versa elsewhere lest we end up with a massive off topic argument, considering the nature of the forums there are plenty of people who could go right on and do that.

(we can all agree though that that protestants split from the Catholic Church 😉 )

My actual question was what other christian religions are out there so I can compare it myself . I actually got the answer on another catholic forum, go figure, lol
