From what I understand, lasting schisms occurred at the councils of Ephesus and Chalcedon - and, of course, there is the Great Schism between East and West.
How much of the Church broke with the rest of the Church at Ephesus, at Chalcedon, and in the Great Schism? Were the numbers similar, or were the two groups in the Great Schism significantly more equal than in the other schisms?
