Feel free to correct/contradict me 🙂
You left out The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints which is also an Abrahamic Covenant Church that is not Protestant, Jew or Islamic but believes that they are Abrahamic as well.

Sorry brother. You are wrong. Muslim has 3 Gods: Allah, Quran (which is uncreated and eternal) and the elevated human to be parallel with God named Muhammad.
That isn’t quite accurate on more than one count. Christianity has a long history of deification of human beings. In fact it was a fundamental Christian tenet and was believed and taught for several hundred years in post apostolic Christianity. It was only after the fifth century that it was rejected.

Sorry brother. You are wrong. Muslim has 3 Gods: Allah, Quran (which is uncreated and eternal) and the elevated human to be parallel with God named Muhammad.
Quite incorrect, as usual.

Let’s start with definitions:
Islam–means willful submission to God.
Muslim–means the person who willfully submits to God.

Allah–Arabic name for God, the name He calls himself in the Qur’an, so the name preferred by Muslims
Qur’an–Uncreated speech of God. It is not God, it is not a god, but it is the Speech of God.
Muhammad–a human being, created by God, called to be a Prophet and Messenger.

There is nothing equivalent to God in Islam. Qul huwa Allahu ahad…

:ehh: Is there something in Islamic teaching that in order to be a Muslim you have to distort the Christian view of God?

As a former Christian, I expected better than this from you. Christians worship ONE GOD - no partners, no 3 gods, no 3 deities etc. Yes, Christians believe in the Trinity, however, God is, was and always shall be ONE.
Actually, I was explaining the Christian version vs. the Muslim version as it is often presented to me. Haven’t you heard people tell you that Muslims worship a different God because the reject divinity of Jesus and the Holy Spirit? Jews also reject such divinity–Christians are unique in the triune concept of God.

And according to Christians, their Triune God is not the same as the absolutely monotheistic understanding of Jews and Muslims. 🤷

I never said Christians worship 3 gods though, did I? I said they worship a (singular) Triune God. If you object to the adjective, you can take it up with your priests I guess… or become a Muslim.

Here is what you said:

My objection to your statement was the part in bold. Christians absolutely worship The One True God. You attempted to distort the Christian view by implying that Christians don’t worship one God - similar to Muslim Woman’s distortion that Christians associate “partners” with God.

And no offense, but I will never be a Muslim (as defined as someone who practices Islam.)

🤷 I don’t know what you will or will never be. It’s between you and God.

Now, I think I understand your objection to the part in bold. But do you believe that Muslims, Christians, and Jews all worship One God, the same One God, with the same understanding of One God?

🤷 I don’t know what you will or will never be. It’s between you and God.
Absolutely. But, Jesus has personally answered my prayers and made me a promise so I have absolutely no doubts about His Divinity. 🙂 Therefore, I must reject Muhammad and all of his false claims regarding Jesus. 🙂

I don’t know about the same understanding, because obviously there are many Muslims that don’t/don’t want to understand the Trinity. But, I do believe that Christians, Jews and Muslims all worship the same God. My own personal opinion is that when they die, Jews and Muslims will meet Jesus and have a chance then to accept or reject Him - especially if they didn’t know anything about Him in life or were lied to about Him. But that’s my own personal opinion. 🙂

We are talking about the behavior of muslims towards these other deities in islam. And also mohammed raising himself right up there with allah.
al tirmidh:
I.
#936, allah’s messenger said: ‘He who invokes blessings upon Muhammed saying: “O Allah, cause him to occupy the nearest seat to thee on the Day of Resurrection, my intercession will be assured for him.”’
(Here Muhammed is making himself patron and lord, partnering with Allah (who actually needs a bit of help). Since only ‘Divine God’ - Christ - has been given 'all judgment, and no intercession will be allowed, is this madman of Mecca committing the unforgiveable sin of shirk" )
II.
tirmidhi #929, '…I said: “May I devote the whole of my supplication to you? (my prayer)?” Thereupon he (Muhammed) said: ‘In that case it will take care of you and your sins would be expiated.’
(So, supplicating to Muhammed takes care of sin? This is heretical shirk!)
III.
#933, Allahs’ messenger said: ‘The niggardly is the one before whom I am mentioned and he does not invoke blessings upon me.’
( Another comdemnation for anyone who forgets that mohammed is the focus of islam’s teachings. He’s nesteled right in allah’s lap as its partner.)
IV.
#938 The supplication is stopped between heaven and earth and none of it ascends till you invoke blessing on your prophet. (Prayers cannot reach the big boss, Allah, unless muslims include an invocation for mohammed!?)
V.
#927 Allah’s messenger said: ‘Let there be smeared with dust the nose of the person in whose presence I am mentioned, and he does not invoke blessing on me.’
(No getting around it, if mohammed doesn’t remain the center of the muslim unverse, there will be hell to pay!)
VI.
#923 Allah’s messenger said: ‘The one nearest to me on the Day of Resurrection will be one who invokes the greatest number of blessings on me.’
(See how he inserts himself as having importance on the Day of Resurrection? He a rotted corpse, but this ties knots in the head of all muslims!)
VII.
#922 Allah’s messenger said: ‘He who invokes one blessing on me, Allah will shower ten blessings upon him and obliterate ten sins and elevate him by ten ranks.’
(muslims, knowing how contentious and capricious Allah is, are constantly struggling to make it to home plate in this pointless game of islam.)
VIII.
#820 Verily my prayer, sacrifices, life and my death are for Allah, the lord of the worlds (SATAN - see next quote 2 Cor 4:3,4). There is no associate of his: and this is what I have been directed to and I am the first amongst the muslims.
(2 Corinthians 4:3,4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are perishing, in whom the god of this world (SATAN) hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.)
IX.
#811 …don’t you fear Allah? don’t you see how you observe the prayer? You are under the impression that what you do is hidden from me. by Allah, I see me as I see in front of me.
(Now he’s claiming the power of being all seeing? He couldn’t perform a single miracle, but Allah gives him a rearview mirror? How can one reasonably follow such a guy?)
X. (I am including this one - it isn’t shirk, but it is showing us that once again, mohammed couldn’t follow his own ‘religion’.
#66 …The prophet said: A wise person is one who keeps a watch over his bodily desires and passons …a foolish person is one who subordinates himself to his cravings and desires.
(Since mohammed never put this wisdom into practice, he, himself, is telling his followers that he is foolisth! So, why are allah’s slaves following this guy?)
And their behavior towards the black rock. This is from an ex-muslim who tells us in her writing about the muslim worship of the black rock.

And the the koran, and the muslim’s behavior over a book. A book that has so many copies worldwide, and they say that many muslims have memorized, some have killed over some perceived slight, as they have killed over some perceived slight of mohammed. Who cares what they anyone does to a book! Or even what others say about their mohammed, allah or koran - but instead of letting their allah do the judging they take the law into their own hands. Some of these slights were not even true and people not even involved in this slight were killed. Nothing was done to these people because they ones they killed are not considered human beings, or because they were not ‘believers’ sharia laws don’t care about them.

So is it valid to say that the Christian God is NOT the God of the Jews seeing as how we (I am a Catholic) believe in a Triune God and the Jews don’t?

One thing I have noticed is that I have no doubts about Jesus being God. In fact, when I go into deeper research into islam it actually makes my faith in Jesus grow even more. I have absolutely no doubt in my whole being about Jesus.

I don’t agree the muslims worship the same God though. They worship a ‘monotheistic’ god, but so did Acknanton - and he didn’t worship the same God of Israel either. The difference between allah and Ra though is also drastic. We don’t associate Ra and Acknanton with death, hatred etc. In fact, Acknanton seemed to have been inspired to build. something the opposite of what I see in islam. The people went backwards instead of forward.

Well, the worshippers of the many gods of Egypt might have had hatred for Ra and Acknanton - but not the reverse. As with islam and all the hatred that mohammed/allah/koran has perpetrated in islam.

It is the same God, the Jews just didn’t believe that Jesus was His Son. They are still waiting for something - I don’t know what anymore. I think they ‘missed the boat’ so to say.

I’m not as knowledgeable about the history of Islam and Muhammad, so I can’t speak to what Muhammad knew / intended in preaching to worship one God and who he believed Him to be, (and I honestly believe that most Muslims in the present time don’t have any idea either), so I think the average/mainstream Muslim believes s/he is worshipping and intends to worship the same God. Whether that is what Muhammad intended 🤷, but I think that is what it has morphed into today. I think God will always work to bring us to Him, no matter what Satan tries to do. We just have to trust in Him and continue to pray. :signofcross:

Now, I know practically nothing about Judaism, but I think the only Jews waiting for the Messiah’s coming are the Orthodox Jews. Also, what’s the Jewish understanding of the Messiah? Is he considered to be God’s Son? And if they consider him to be His son, is he “the same” as the Father? I ask this because the way you express yourself gives the impression that you are a non-Christian, and to Christians the Father is consubstantial with the Son and with the Holy Spirit. I don’t think the Jews have this concept, though I could be wrong.

While non-Catholics do not have the same concept of God as we do, the Church recognizes that they do indeed worship the one true God.
Catechism of the Catholic Church
839 “Those who have not yet received the Gospel are related to the People of God in various ways.”[325] The relationship of the Church with the Jewish People. When she delves into her own mystery, the Church, the People of God in the New Covenant, discovers her link with the Jewish People,[326] “the first to hear the Word of God.”[327] The Jewish faith, unlike other non-Christian religions, is already a response to God’s revelation in the Old Covenant. To the Jews “belong the sonship, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises; to them belong the patriarchs, and of their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ”,[328] “for the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.”[329]
840 And when one considers the future, God’s People of the Old Covenant and the new People of God tend towards similar goals: expectation of the coming (or the return) of the Messiah. But one awaits the return of the Messiah who died and rose from the dead and is recognized as Lord and Son of God; the other awaits the coming of a Messiah, whose features remain hidden till the end of time; and the latter waiting is accompanied by the drama of not knowing or of misunderstanding Christ Jesus.
841 The Church’s relationship with the Muslims. “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.”[330]
842 The Church’s bond with non-Christian religions is in the first place the common origin and end of the human race: All nations form but one community. This is so because all stem from the one stock which God created to people the entire earth, and also because all share a common destiny, namely God. His providence, evident goodness, and saving designs extend to all against the day when the elect are gathered together in the holy city. . .[331]
843 "The Catholic Church recognizes in other religions that search, among shadows and images, for the God who is unknown yet near since he gives life and breath and all things and wants all men to be saved. Thus, the Church considers all goodness and truth found in these religions as ‘a preparation for the Gospel and given by him who enlightens all men that they may at length have life.’

Belief in a coming Messiah is part of normative Judaism, whether orthodox or conservative. Individual opinions will vary.
We do not believe the Messiah will be Divine/God.

You left out The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints which is also an Abrahamic Covenant Church that is not Protestant, Jew or Islamic but believes that they are Abrahamic as well.
**JlFuller, welcome. Please tell me a few things about your faith and practice, as follows: You have asked to be included in the religion with Abrahamic faith. Very Good idea. Give reply to each item separately please.
  1. Do your people circumsize the forskin of all males?
  2. Do you believe in Trinity?
  3. Do you believe that Jesus is God?
  4. Do you consume the flesh of swine?
I know it may be difficult to openly reply to all the questions. But they will help me understand a few things. I do not consider the Catholics as a religion hailing from Abraham. I do not know much about the Jews but it is hoped that they have a connection with Abraham. The Catholics have broken off that connection in many ways.

I do not know why the OP (Eucharisted) included the Catholics in his list of Abrahamic religions. To me the people who call themselves Catholics are not even on the path of Jesus son of Mary. They are not on the path of Moses. How could they be counted in the list of Abrahamic religions. **

While non-Catholics do not have the same concept of God as we do, the Church recognizes that they do indeed worship the one true God.
So saying that one worships the Trinity as the one true God means that one has a fuller understanding of God than, say, Islam and Judaism?
