I finished talking to my friend (protestant) and he is my confident. I was telling him about the email i received from my VD. He stated (my friend) that it sounds like good news and bad news, I asked why, He said well if there are other people they want to interview on the same day , seems like there will be competition. I am now again wondering. Could this be true? could it be just like a job interview? If there are 6 people after the same job, you know, But I would think that this would be different. If say there are 7 other guys that will meet with the 4 person interview, and all 7 got past the hurdles like myself, Would they take all 7 if what they say in the interview is good?? or is there only like 1 or 2 “spots” and there will be 7 and they will only take 2. I never have gotten this far and this is new to me. In the private sector I am used to that. one job position and 30 people after that one job, Would a diocese operate that same way??

I personally think that is silly thinking. If God calls someone, or several people, that is God’s will.

As they go through Seminary, both sides will better discern if they are called or not.

I think that you’re overthinking it. Maybe they decided to have all meetings done on the same day out of convenience.
Do not be anxious about anything,
but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6-7

yes they are having it all done on one day.For conveinence My question I guess is, Lets say that all the candidates they will interview that day have good interviews, will they take all of us or will this be a who’s the best and we will take him… Or will it be who ever they like whether one or all will be accepted. I am basically wondering is this like a job interview. and we all are competing for that one “spot” ? I know that God is the unltimate on this and yes I understand if I am really called I will be accepted.

I may be wrong, but I don’t think you are filling “positions.” Rather, I think they are just looking for those truly called, however the amount of people may be…

I don’t believe so. The Holy Spirit will work through the interviewer and help him discern who are the best candidates/who really have a calling. This isn’t a “one spot only” type of deal. Even if you don’t possess all the qualities for which they are looking, you will be able to build on them in the seminary. I’m sure that they aren’t expecting everyone to be “perfect.”

Thank you all for making me feel better. I think you are right. Please pray to the Holy Spirit for me that I am really being called and that all will work out. God bless Scoob.
